About this cottage rental
When we enter the village—designated a “Village of Portugal” since 2011—it feels as though we’ve stepped back in time to the traditional spirit of the villages of the Beira region.
The stone houses exemplify how it’s possible to restore buildings without losing the area’s identity or magic. And this earned them the 2015 IHRU Award, presented by the Institute for Housing and Urban Renewal—the oldest national award in Portugal’s construction and real estate sector.
The restoration of the houses and the tasteful decor ensure a memorable stay in an intimate setting. The wrought-iron beds and antique furniture, the lace bedspreads and linen curtains, combined with comfort, provide the perfect setting for a few days with family or friends.
The houses are named after their former owners and are all equipped with a sofa bed, fireplace, cable TV, internet, and a fully equipped kitchen.
The Paço de Mato house, a two-bedroom (T2) property, features a bedroom with two single beds and a bathroom on the upper floor, and a suite with a double bed and a bathroom on the first floor, as well as a living room and kitchen.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, check-in is conducted by phone.
