About this castle / palace rental
An enchanting Medieval castle in the Dordogne with breathtaking views of the beautiful countryside.
The Château dates back to 1155 and is steeped in history. It offers 15 beautiful en-suite rooms as well as a two bedroom apartment. There are two swimming pools, gorgeous grounds, two kitchens, grand hall, dining hall, library, patios, balconies and much more. It is the perfect place for family reunions, retreats, and special events.
A charming château, full of character, you and your party will enjoy private en-suite rooms, filled with heaps of period features. The views from the rooms are simply breath-taking, looking over the beautiful rolling hills and green forests. All basic amenities are included to make your stay comfortable and you will have complete and exclusive access to the estate during your stay.
In total we can sleep 38 guests and additional day guests are welcome to join you during your stay. We can provide extra beds and cots for children and babies for no extra charge.
Kitchens:
The facilities include one extensive kitchen in the main Château which is fully equipped with ovens, hobs, fridges, freezers, washing machine and plenty of crockery, cutlery and cooking equipment. There is an additional well-equipped country style kitchen to use in the Maison du Parc. There is also a kitchen in the self-contained Pigeonnier apartment.
Living Spaces:
There is a fantastic library leading out onto the terrace and lawns of the Château, which is the perfect area to gather of an evening to enjoy a drink and catch up with friends and family on the comfy sofas. There is also a spacious dining room which can be used for breakfasts and other meals throughout your stay which features an immense historical fireplace.
In the Maison du Parc we have our large Hall with air conditioning, ideal for meetings, reunions and gatherings. The Hall has it's own sound system, plenty of comfortable furniture, a bar which you can stock, and room for dancing.
Grounds and Gardens:
On the estate there are two large swimming pools, surrounded by sun loungers and plenty of grounds to explore. With two separate walled gardens in addition to the main Château lawns, there are excellent spaces for children to play.
Gastronomy:
At the Château you are welcome to self cater as you wish and we do not charge corkage. However, if you would like some of your stay catered, then we can recommend some excellent local suppliers who can offer fine dining, BBQs, family-style dining, hog roasts, wood-fired pizza, food trucks, crepes and much more! We can also provide plenty of recommendations for excellent restaurants and other points of interest.
The Local Area:
The area is simply stunning with medieval towns and villages and sweeping views of the Dordogne Valley. It is within easy reach of Sarlat and Rocamadour as well as all the other local tourist attractions. We can help you with bookings for activities such as canoeing, wine tasting and cycle hire, just ask for more information!
There is ample free parking on site and there is an electric vehicle charging point in the village car park. Guests can walk to the local bakery (two minute walk) and down to the Dordogne river to swim and soak up the peaceful surroundings (a 15 minute stroll away.)
