About this house rental
It is on the hills above Sergeac—a typical village in the Périgord Noir region, located in the canton of Montignac-Lascaux—that you’ll discover the “Les Hauts coteaux de Salon” house, nestled in a private hamlet.
The house, set in the heart of a 20-hectare private estate, enjoys an ideal location. It is situated in the center of the “Golden Triangle” connecting Les Eyzies (home of Cro-Magnon man), Montignac (the Lascaux IV caves), and Sarlat (the medieval town).
This air-conditioned 19th-century home has been completely renovated using local materials. An interior designer helped us select the colors and furnishings to offer you a 95m² space full of charm and sophistication.
We welcome you with a basket of local specialties upon your arrival so you can sample the delicacies of our region.
Early risers may be lucky enough to spot some deer that will keep you company during breakfast.
During the day, you can relax in a private, heated 4.5 x 11-meter pool with a spacious 100-square-meter terrace made of exotic wood, all while listening to the gentle chirping of cicadas…
In the evening, enjoy the house’s terrace while sipping a drink with family or friends as you watch the magnificent sunset.
Both bedrooms are equipped with 43-inch flat-screen TVs.
The “Hauts Coteaux de Salon” house enjoys a prime location. Perched on a hilltop, it overlooks the Vézère Valley. The property’s 20 hectares offer an exceptional view and lend this place a sense of calm and serenity.
Below lies the heart of the small village of Sergeac, bordered by high cliffs at the foot of which numerous prehistoric sites have been discovered—sites that can still be visited today.
The presence of this ancient heritage, the proximity of the river, and the picturesque and varied terrain of this valley—combined with beautiful scenery—make for very enjoyable hikes along well-marked trails set amid extensive woodlands and a wide variety of vegetation.
Don’t miss the typical, friendly farmers’ markets in the various surrounding towns.
Make the most of your vacation—upon request, we can book cave or castle tours for you, recommend the best restaurants, suggest unique horseback or pony rides with a swim in the river, and provide the best routes for hiking or mountain biking.

We had a wonderful sojourn at Sandrine’s property in the Vezere. Sandrine was an excellent host, with smooth communication throughout. The property itself is as beautiful as the descriptions with views out across the hillsides, while the pool feels both very private and open to the countryside. We cooked most meals at the house with all the utensils , pots and pans we needed in the kitchen , though Sandrine’s provided some excellent dining-out recommendations as well. The beds were very comfortable, and bedrooms were spacious. Temperatures were in the mid-30s and the house was comfortable with the windows open at night. Our cautions to fellow travelers would be (1) the bedrooms are upstairs on a steep spiral staircase that may be challenging with heavy suitcases or limited mobility, (2) the location is wonderfully in the countryside on rural roads that guests should be comfortable driving, and (3) countryside insects may be around when you open the windows. If you aren’t bothered by these, this house is a wonderful location to enjoy life in the Dordogne and visit the close by attractions.

A charming and tastefully designed house, perfectly located in an inspiring setting.The kitchen was exceptionally well-equipped, as cooking enthusiasts, we didn’t miss a thing. Combined with the region’s wonderful local ingredients, it created a truly perfect culinary experience.The house was spotless and immaculate. We came with close friends, and the home became the ideal backdrop for a shared experience we will treasure forever.Thank you so much, Sandrine, for your wonderful hospitality

We spent a wonderful 10 days here as a family and enjoyed every minute. The house is immaculate and has everything you could possibly need. The air-conditioned rooms were very welcome during the hot weather, and the pool was a perfect spot to cool down. The internet connection is also very good which made working remotely very easy for me too. Sandrine was a perfect host, and even invited us to join her family and friends at a summer party she hosted in the field adjacent to the house. The location provides easy access to many local towns and sights of the Dordogne region and we enjoyed canoeing, visiting caves and wandering around local towns. We would definitely stay again - thank you Sandrine!
