About this apartment rental
This spacious apartment is a lovingly-restored 1800s unit right in the heart of downtown on Main St in Columbus, Mississippi. A long staircase leads to the main door which opens into a spacious entryway which can be used for an office if desired.
Please know that there is a tall flight of stairs that must be climbed in order to enter the apartment. IF you have mobility issues or a heart condition, this apartment would not be ideal for you. There is no elevator.
Unassigned Parking is available on the street just outside the door (limited to 2 hours during business hours because this is downtown after all) or you can park behind the building. When there are festivals or popular events downtown, parking may become quite limited, but almost everything you need is within walking distance.
We provide a smart TV and WiFi. If you have a NEtflix or other TV subscription, you'll be able to access your favorite shows online.
Two reasonably large bedrooms, both with king sized beds and full bathrooms, are comfortably outfitted with high quality furnishings, bedding and guest towels. Ample closet space is available for longer-term stays, and a washer and dryer are conveniently provided inside the unit. The Master bedroom backs up to a private deck located in the alleyway, perfect for star-gazing.
Stainless appliances and a marble countertop star in the kitchen, which is open to the living area for seamless entertaining. Hardwood floor grace all of the rooms and the exposed conduits in the ceiling give it a somewhat industrial vibe.
But by far my favorite feature is the living room skylight. I love the natural sunlight streaming through during the daytime. It gives the space a certain romance that is difficult to describe. You'll have to come experience it for yourself.

Clean, well stocked, comfortable beds, amazing living space
Responsive owners, even answered a late night call.
Cute town, although it was very quiet on a long holiday weekend. Beautiful river spaces, good restaurants, walkable, and easy parking. Everyone we met was friendly and helpful.
Will stay again.
Be aware of a long flight of stairs to enter the space - they are well maintained, wide and stable, but would not work well for someone who struggles with stairs.

This was my second time staying at Skylight in Columbus! I was so happy it was available again for this trip! My sister, husband and I were in town for a family function stayed here together. It was more than enough space for us to be together for an entire week. We prepared many of our own meals in the nice kitchen and enjoyed the spectacular nightly sunsets through the enormous front window!
The beds are SO comfortable that I’m going to reach out to the owner and find out what brand they are so I can get one at home!
There are so many great things about this apartment, I could go on and on! If you’re looking for a stylish, clean, comfortable place to stay in Columbus, MS, with a downtown location, look no further!

This was without a doubt the very best Vrbo (or Airbnb) property I’ve ever stayed in! Vanessa was a wonderful host who was extremely helpful and easily reached anytime I had a question. The immaculately clean, light filled, sprawling city apartment is so spacious and beautifully decorated, I felt like I was in a luxury “big city” penthouse! The back rooftop patio was a fabulous relaxing place to spend my evenings and I really enjoyed watching and listening to the night hawks and chimney swifts swirling around the sunset lit sky. Although I enjoyed having the entire place to myself, it would be a wonderful to stay with family or friends.
With the virus situation I was afraid to stay in a hotel and be exposed to too many people, so staying in a Vrbo was the safest solution, and boy am I glad I chose this one. The photos in the listing are accurate, but when you see the living room skylight in real life, it will take your breath away!
