The privacy.
The room was very clean but a little small for me. I'm a big guy. Having said that, for a night or two, not bad. As an extended stay, I would have to stay somewhere else. Also, the space heater did not work.

Convenient to central Alpine: Short walk to Bread and Breakfast, Holland Hotel, Reata Restaurant, AMTRAK station. Short drive to event venue at Alpine City Hall. Free WiFi. Price was right.
The tiny drip coffee maker overflowed and made a mess. No breakfast provided, just a mini-fridge and a microwave. Two AC units: One in bedroom was fine, one in bathroom smelled bad.

Next to the train tacks. They provide ear plugs. I suggest an eye mask as well. I liked staying there, but be prepared to plug ears and eyes.
