About this cottage rental
The Scout Cottage has undergone a COMPLETE RENOVATION - NEW kitchen, NEW bathroom, NEW windows and doors - NEW everything! WALKING distance (5 minutes) to West Lake Okoboji, Arnolds Park Amusement Park and much more. Cottage includes a full kitchen with all cooking accessories and bathroom with shower. Cottage has a new queen mattress. Bed linens and bath towels are provided.

A beautiful cozy cabin and quiet location. The owners had an anniversary card on the table when we arrived. Everything that we needed was provided for our stay. Looking forward to our next stay.

This is an excellent place to stay if you need somewhere to sleep and a fridge to keep your drinks cold.
The gripes: There's no microwave.
The A/C takes over an hour to cool the bedroom when it's hot out. There's a note saying it takes 10 minutes to cool down. This is not true.
The property seems to have sewer issues. The sink is slow to drain and the shower would overflow if you let it.
There's a note that if you run out of the two rolls of toilet paper that is provided, they want you to buy your own toilet paper of a certain brand.
Now, Two rolls IS plenty for a weekend. But try telling your wife that when she thinks you'll run out.
At $400 a night, I would call the owner first and get some more from them.
The Good: This place is within walking distance of Arnold's Park and the nightlife (bars). The owners are friendly, and there's enough parking for everyone. The floor layout makes sense, and it feels comfortable to be inside.
Bottom Line: If you need a place to lay your head within walking distance, This is a great choice. I'd do it again, and I'd ask for the toilet paper upfront
