I loved how convenient the location was — close enough to walk to SPOT/De Oosterpoort and the centre of Groningen, but still peaceful and quiet at night. The owner was really friendly and welcoming, and the canal view with the houseboats was lovely. The communal kitchen was also a great bonus.
The only minor downside was that the room became quite warm during the unusually hot 33°C weather. It was still manageable, but a fan in the room would make summer stays even more comfortable.

The location is fantastic, at the very edge of the old city center. The collection of available facilities, particularly in terms of the kitchen, are extensive and well-documented on-site.
The kitchen was quite messy during my stay; I'm sure this is not due to the proprietor, but the other guest(s) who had been or were staying. From a staying-for-work perspective, it would have been nice if the room had offered a place to work.
