Location was excellent for our access to public transport to central Auckland and for our event at Eden Park. Staff very welcoming and helpful. Loved the extra touches such a honey tea and shortbread on arrival, macaroons in our room, plus lovely breakfasts on on of the several verandahs. High tea was a treat each day between 5 and 6pm. Spotlessly clean inside and out.

I found the room a bit too dark to read at night.

Disappointing - buyer beware!

Good linen, comfy bed, staff were friendly.

This hotel did not honour the terms of booking due to being in liquidation (as staff explained). High Tea at 5pm :-( replaced drinks and hors d'oeuvres. No kitchen, so when promised breakfast items were not delivered to the hotel, guests missed out (chia pudding and yoghurt first morning). Serving a cold club sandwich or burrito for breakfast is not representative of a quality venue either! Our Clarke Suite waa described as a Superior room but it was not - it couldn't fit 2 chairs in it! Noisy - could hear guests upstairs, on a busy road and also from 6am guests were arriving so we were woken by activity in the hall (an old house). Would not recommend and not value for money when compared to other offerings nearby.

Our First Time in Auckland!

Such a beautiful house, inside and out. Rooms were so lovely and clean. Bed and linen was the best I’ve ever had! So close to everything! We walked everywhere! The staff were so friendly. Can’t wait to come back.

No milk for the tea and coffee in the rooms lol. That was literally the only thing!

An absolutely delightful hotel with very friendly staff in the best location

Breakfast was superb and enjoyable on the deck. The small sitting room for wine and canapés each evening was a delight. The location was perfect for me, close to friends and all that I needed to do in Auckland .

There was not always a staff member there, for example when I was checking out and needed to leave my bag in reception for a few hours before my flight

We loved everything about Hotel Fitzroy. From the check in to the beautiful room, breakfast, staff, location etc etc we will definitely go back next time we’re in Auckland. Thank you for all the attention to detail and hospitality.

Five star service and amenities within walking distance to the restaurants/shops of Ponsonby.

Eric and the rest of the staff at the Fitzroy were exceptional. They were very friendly, attentive and helpful. The rooms were exceptionally well appointed. Beautiful linens, thick towels and heavy robes and slippers. Heated floors and towel racks in the bathroom. Dyson hair dryers and high quality shampoos/conditioners/soap/lotions. The beds were very comfortable and lighting was on dimmers. We had a really nice breakfast delivered to our room/porch every morning and the price was included in the rate. In addition there was "happy hour" from 4PM-9PM in the sitting room and canapés also included in the price. The staff also arranged for our transport to the airport. Convenient location a block from the shops/restaurants in Ponsonby. Top notch experience!

Such a fantastic place to stay. The staff was so kind, the room was beautiful and luxuriously appointed. I was able to walk all over Auckland easily, and public transport was also very convenient and easy to use.

I liked that there was a range of complimentary drinks and snacks in the room. I also really liked the effort and amazing breakfast that was delivered to our room at a time we chose. Was a great start to the day.

Not many options in terms of parking except for on the street and also the gym facilities were at a different location down the road. It also would have been supurb with a bath but the showers were large a spacious as is.

Perfect location, lovely building with great ammenities. Loved the upstairs library/lounge. Breakfast was delicious with great choices.

Fabulous intimate hotel with many lovely touches to separate it from the rest.

Fabulous location, wonderful period rooms with very contemporary fitout. Very accomodating - we were given access early. Small, intimate place with great artwork. Exceptional staff. Generous additions such as pre-dinner drinks and canapes included in the rate.

Minor factors: Very limited space for bags in the room. Espresso machine not working, (but when advised it was replaced immediately).

excellent location close to Ponsonby Central which includes lots of restaurants and shops. nice new interior fit out of rooms and common spaces. Nice selection of drinks and wines available in library for all guests to help themselves to. Breakfast was very good and delivered daily to you room af requested time

Our room had a window which was not completely covered allowing a lot of light into our room during the night time. I reported this and the staff advised they are replacing the blind and will dim the lights for me at night. Inside the rooms were dark during the day but fine, just a little bit hard to apply makeup etc.

We couldn’t stay longer So lovely meeting so many nationalities from all over the world through drinks and canapés from 5-6pm every afternoons Lovely reminiscing as we are from this area Richmond Rd school and 5 girls all at Auckland Girls Grammar and brothers going to St Paul’s and Mt Albert
