Redbank

The heating in the loungeroom(had to keep fire going) and main bed and bathroom was inadequate. The drying room was pokey.

We stayed at Redbank in Dinner Plain for three nights and found it to be a cozy and convenient base for exploring the Mt Hotham area. While there were a few areas that could be improved, the overall experience was pleasant and the location is hard to beat. The best part of Redbank is its location—just a 15-minute drive to Mt Hotham, with the added convenience of shuttle buses nearby. The kitchen was well-equipped, with excellent fridge and freezer space, and the coffee machine was a thoughtful touch that we really appreciated. The house was relatively clean, and the fireplace added a lovely alpine ambiance, even if it didn’t provide much actual warmth.

There were a few things that could be improved. The beds were quite firm with minimal cushioning, and the bedding wasn’t quite warm enough for the cold alpine nights. Pillows were average in comfort. There were cobwebs in parts of the house that could have been cleaned up, and heating relied on plug-in units, which struggled to effectively warm the space. We also experienced a few brief power outages, and while the bathroom was functional, it felt a little dated.
