National Park spreads on the western side of the Island (for over 54km2) and offers shady walking or cycling tracks, ancient ruins, and saltwater lakes. Entrances to NP Mljet is in Polače and Pomena.
The main places are Pomena, Polače, and Sobra and in those places, you may find supermarkets, ATMs, restaurants, travel agencies, souvenir shops, etc...
Island is regularly connected with Dubrovnik with a ferry from Dubrovnik or Korčula as well as a car ferry connection with Pelješac Peninsula on the Croatian mainland.
Sobra is a small bay on Mljet island that is also one of the Mljet ports. This is the place where ferries from Dubrovnik and Prapratno arrive daily. Featuring a couple of restaurants as well as a handy food shop, this place is a great choice for all travellers.
