Vacation home "Gipfelglück" with breathtaking views

Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay at this property. The property itself is large and well equipped with plenty of space both inside and out. The games room/gym, which includes, amongst other things, a table tennis table, darts board and climbing wall, was a particular hit with our 2 boys. The setting is absolutely stunning, situated high up above the valley with views to distant mountains. On several days we awoke to find ourselves quite literally above the clouds. The host, Eddy, was also great and could not have been more helpful. In addition to providing detailed directions and instructions, he also assisted us in getting free Alpbachtal cards - which allows free/reduced price entry to many local attractions. In summary we loved the property and the location and would highly recommend it.

Wow! This lodging in the Austrian Alps offered us everything, plus more. The countless windows facing the mountains offered us breathtaking views. The outdoor porch and large living room gave us ample space to spread out. Our grandchildren loved playing in the forest near by. Our host, Eddy Miller, provided us with a warm atmosphere to make memories. We loved having the chance to meet him. He was available and ready to meet our needs. We would love to return to this beautiful home in Austria.

We stayed at this lovely house for a fall weekend with my 6 year old daughter and 80+ year old parents. Everything was seamless even before we checked in. My mother has some problems walking and Eddy was very helpful in assessing the accessibility of the property (some steps, but all with handrails, though bedrooms are downstairs), as well as providing lots of dining recommendations. The photos don't do the place justice. It sits at the top of a windy road nestled into the hillside. It is the last house before a pine filled pathway takes you into nature - no need to drive and park to go hiking, it is at your doorstep. The place is warm and cosy, the views spectacular, the wood burning fireplace well stocked, the seating abundant, and the beds very comfortable. My daughter loved the workout room with its trapeze and rock-climbing wall. The kitchen was well outfitted with all the basics you need to cook a meal, including staples like olive oil, salt and pepper. The neighbor's friendly cat, Blitzi, would love to visit if you want him to (my daughter thought this was the absolute cat's meow, if you'll excuse the pun...). The only thing I would note, and this isn't a negative - just an FYI - is that the drive up to the house does take a good 10-15 minutes of fairly narrow switchbacks; although with these you wouldn't have the peace and tranquility that the place offers. Just take this into account when planning dinners out.

This house was large but so cozy and met all our expectations, starting from good information and advice, a friendly welcoming from Eddy to the best stay we have had for a long time. The house had everything we needed to enjoy both indoors and outdoors. It was was such a lovely retreat to come back too after an adventurous day to just relax. We have no complaints, how could you when you wake up to that view every morning. Paul and family
