L'Hotel Journal Tel Aviv - מלון ז'ורנל

This is a new hotel, so maybe it just needs more time. It's in an old building, and the elevator is old and noisy. We came in when renovation staff and equipment were scattered throughout the small lobby. The receptionist was super friendly and helpful, but clearly inexperienced. The bed was comfortable. We didn't have toilet paper in the room. Asked, and they brought it on the spot. Very attentive. Not sure how it will develop. We needed a place for a short night stay in the vicinity, and it overall fitted our needs.

Details are missing. No place to put soap/shampoo etc. in the shower. Finishes are not amazing. The feeling is of an old and ran down place. It is being renovated, and maybe by the time they finish up everything it will be ok, but so far - it still needs work on the details.

The staff was very friendly, especially Elivaere at night was very helpful with organizing a taxi. Booking and check-in were also great.

No real coffee machine, price relatively high for what was offered.

it's close proximity to the downtown area. Although there's not much to see there unless you love joining crowds in small corner clubs and restos. The beach is a good 20 to 30 minute walk in a straight line with a bike and hike track, you can't be lost or it's good way of saving from taxi fares that are very expensive.

Breakfast is not in the hotel itself, it is 10 minute walk away; upon trying it was good anyway but they start at 8:30AM not really suitable if you have a early and busy schedule for the day. Along the way to the restaurant you can change your mind instead to pay at the other restaurants available around there if you trying to save time. The hibiscus tea was great.
