Located in the Blue Ridge Mountains just outside the village of Cashiers, NC, Treehouse at Water’s Edge is a rare lakefront treasure nestled in Sapphire Valley on the Blue Ridge Plateau. This luxurious treehouse-style home sits directly on a serene lake and has been lovingly renovated and meticulously managed, with thoughtful care given to every detail to provide optimum comfort, aesthetic beauty, and true mountain relaxation.

Soak in lovely lake and mountain views from almost every room, from all four decks, beside the fireplace, or gathered around the waters-edge fire pit. The home features incredibly comfortable seating and beds, beautiful bathroom tile work, exquisite lighting fixtures, stone vessel sinks, original artwork, and rich cherry wood cabinetry throughout. The main-level bathroom even includes heated floors. Our numerous bookshelves offer pamphlets and interesting reading on the area as well as novels , puzzles, darts, and games for enjoyable downtime.

For the chefs, the kitchen is equipped with a commercial-style gas range, extra appliances, and an excellent grill on the deck. The “honor” pantry and fridge is partially stocked, inviting you to partake and replenish with your own additions. The lower level includes a convenient kitchenette with full-size refrigerator. Off the garage, a rec sunroom studio with beautiful views and soft cork floor serves as a wonderful playroom, complete with a family-crafted shuffleboard table.

The lower level also features a fabulous master suite with a three-way shower, dry sauna, and generous living space, along with a dedicated home theater for movie nights and relaxation.

Outdoor living is exceptional. Guests enjoy multiple boats including kayaks and a double canoe, floating docks that can be moved to your preferred location on the lake, life jackets, and fishing equipment. Swim in the lake, dive from the docks, or relax on the floating deck. Evenings are perfect for s’mores and stargazing by the lake-edge fire pit.

Guests are granted complimentary access to all Sapphire Valley Resort amenities, including golf, tennis, free use of indoor and outdoor large swimming pools, a fitness center, and discounted tubing and skiing. Nearby private Fairfield Lake is also available for resort guests, free of charge as owner guests. Hiking to nearby waterfalls is a must, and the area offers abundant wildlife and natural beauty. Enjoy a wide variety of restaurants — from family-friendly to gourmet — in Sapphire Valley, or take a short drive to the village of Cashiers for additional dining, boutique shopping, and a well-appointed grocery store.

We stayed at this wonderful home over Memorial Day weekend for a quick trip with our adult sons. All four of us loved the house, and it was perfect for our family. It is just as the photos show and is so cozy with everything you need and more. It's close to the town shops and convenient to some great restaurants. It was also close to some wonderful hikes and waterfalls! We enjoyed taking the canoe out on the lake, which was quiet and peaceful. Our boys loved fishing off the dock. We did not use the kayaks, but there were multiple available. The game room had tons of games, and we especially liked the shuffleboard table. There are two porch swings on the upper deck that overlook the lake. It was such a beautiful view and was the perfect place for us to have our coffee in the morning. There are too many things to list what we liked about the property itself, but to sum it up, it's a fantastic place to stay! The hostess, Maria, was super when it came to all communication. She would get back with me quickly to answer any questions I had, and closer to our arrival, she provided so many helpful tips about restaurants, shopping, hiking trails, and more. We would highly recommend this property and will choose to stay here again on our next visit. Thanks for a great stay!

We so enjoyed this house. It was so well equipped with everything in the kitchen including coffee, sugar, spices and many other extras. It has personal touches in decor, including flowering plants on the multiple decks. Gorgeous craftsman style light fixtures were a real treat. The beds were so comfortable. The views of the lake were super, early mornings for coffee, afternoon reading and quiet evenings. The porch swings and chairs were great. We loved the unusual hot tub. Maria was so responsive to our questions and was very helpful. She provided many recommendations for dining and activities, with a large rack of literature on local attractions. (Note: There is a short steep driveway, don’t bring an extra long truck or tow a trailer here.) This house is a treasure and we highly recommend it.

We had a wonderful last minute weekend getaway. Maria was very attentive to our last minute booking. Very spacious for both adults and kids to relax and have a fun. Our boys loved the kayaks, canoe and fishing as well as the theatre room. The views from the porch are amazing. Kitchen is well stocked. Maria is very detailed in check in and check out information. My son "lost" his wallet while there and she was so helpful in finding it. Offered to meet me to return or mail it. We would definitely book this house again.

Such a peaceful and private location. The lake was serene and quiet. The kayaks and adults were perfect for kids and adults to paddle and fish the lake. This home is truly custom and luxurious. Definitely not built to just rent. The linens were high quality, beds comfortable, patio furniture ample, and all of the steps and decks were in great shape. We would stay here again.
