We wanted a place to stay that was close enough to Porthmadog so we didn’t need the car and this worked out well for us. It’s about 15 mins to Porthmadog (one steep flight of stairs) and 10 mins to Borth-y-gest, so perfect. Parking for 3 cars. Very peaceful. Gwyn the host was very accommodating and communication was good. We were 6 adults and a small dog and the Coach House was big enough. Kitchen is well equipped, good size dining table and enough relaxing chairs. Beds were very comfortable. View from the top of the garden is wonderful.Just to note the photos don’t show the layout very well. The double en-suite is on the ground floor off the kitchen as is the main bathroom. One double is up one flight of stairs from the lounge. The twin is up a separate flight of stairs from the kitchen, so the upstairs rooms are not next to each other. Great for our party but maybe not for a family with younger children. The upstairs rooms have a vaulted ceiling with velux windows and were quite warm as we visited over a hot weekend. Other than that highly recommended.

Property is in peaceful grounds yet easy access to a number of tourists locations. Has everything you need but may benefit from a little tlc but nothing to spoil our break. One thing to mention main bathroom is on ground floor. Excellent directions supplied by owner.

This is a lovely property - modern, clean, well prepared and well furnished but we do feel it is suitable for younger people than ourselves. The slope up to the outside seating area is very steep - the property sits high above Porthmadog making walking to and from it very difficult. Plus the toilet for the first floor bedrooms is on the ground floor.

We booked this late on for a new year break. The location was ideal, nice walks (either way right to harbour, left to beach), nice cafes. It is at the top of a hill but nothing too strenuous. The accommodation was lovely and warm and very roomy in all rooms. The only thing we could say is that the furniture is low so it was hard for our elderly parents to sit on/get up from.We would visit again in summer so we can use the garden at the top that looks over the bay.

Lovely location and excellent accommodations. Unfortunately no toilets with the upstairs bedrooms.

All good, the cottage was lovely but the highlight is the elevated garden up a short hill, simply amazing views ! I stayed up there all the time when the weather permitted but it is Wales ! Gwyn the owner was lovely.

A private, spacious property in a beautiful location. Everything was there that we needed for a fantastic and relaxing holiday. Definitely recommend taking you breakfast up to the private garden for the fresh air, peace and quiet and stunning views. Yes there is a short, very steep hill, but worth it! Beds were comfy and plenty of storage. Everything was there that we needed, including a small amount of dish washer tabs and washing up supplies. Very thoughtful to supply a jug of fresh milk so we could have a cupa on arrival. Owner communication was excellent via email and a welcome on arrival. Perfect location for walking into Porthmadog. Yes hilly and steps in places but my children (7+10) and their grandad (72) managed it with ease. I would highly recommend the walk to Borth Y Guest and beyond! We took a back pack with a picnic and continued past the village to explore all the bays along the coastal path, all the way up to the end of Black Rock Sands. Just stunning, my favourite day! A couple of useful things to note for those with younger children, which didnt effect us, because ours are older. The twin room is up its own staircase and does not ajoin the upstairs double. The bathroom is on the ground floor off the kitchen. If you have little ones, you could easily keep an eye on them with a baby monitor in this case. For me it would have been useful to know in advance as it doesn't seem to be stated on the propert description. And yes there are spiders, because its a barn conversion, but there was also plenty of long brushes / dusters in the cleaning cupboard so they can be easily moved. We didnt mind at all, most were high up in the beautiful vaulted ceiling spaces. Overall we loved the property and the location and would definitely book it again! Thank you to Gwyn.
