This beautiful Gulf-front vacation rental includes patio doors in the living room leading to a private balcony that provides a spectacular view of the Gulf of Mexico. Pickleball courts are also nearby, so grab your paddles and have a friendly game together. With the bedroom facing the Gulf side, there is a view of the Gulf from the windows as well. Other features of this upgraded, homely decorated vacation rental include granite countertops, a full-size refrigerator, cooktop stove and oven, microwave and dishwasher, along with all the dishes, pots and utensils needed to prepare and serve meals. The bathroom is newly remodeled and includes a jetted tub, vanity, light fixture, and cabinets. The living room has a 32” TV and a DVD player. The bedroom has a 28” TV with a DVD player.
Things to Know
Complimentary beach service of one umbrella and two chairs is offered from March 1 through October 31. Paddleboards, kayaks, and bicycles are available for an additional charge.

Check in with a little confusing. Unable to get in with the gate code and just wait until actual check-in time. Kitchen lacked some items needed. Had two pots to cook in, but no skillets, just a few things like that. Nothing that would deter me from not going back. The room itself just needed some TLC. Some paint was coming off the cabinet in the bathroom, hangers on the wall where pictures used to be. I would still write it an eight out of a 10.

We stayed at Island Echos 6I for a week in July and were thrilled with the location, view and proximity to the beach. Island Echos is one of many, many high rise hotels/high rise apartment buildings that stretch the length of Fort Walton beach. We were on the sixth floor with a wonderful view of the beach from a small balcony, and the location was convenient to lots of activities, restaurants and Destin (if you don't mind sitting in traffic). We mainly confined ourselves to the apartment, which was comfortable (albeit a little tight) for five people (four adults and one child). We were literally just steps to the beach, and it was super convenient. It was also great to have two lounge chairs and umbrella set up and taken down for us every day. The pool was also nice, except the layout was kind of odd as you couldn't sit in chairs around the pool. (The sitting area is at one end, and the pool was at the other with no space to sit around the pool). Also, when we were there, the seaweed in the ocean was really bad so there were lots of people at the pool instead (it's not very big), and those that came to the pool must have come from the beach because the pool was full of seaweed, both in the water and around the deck for the last few days of our stay. And the water was very cloudy because of how much use it got. There's not much you could do about that, except for an extra cleaning or two.
The apartment was mostly clean with a few issues (the ceiling above the air vent in the living room was all moldy, the sliding door out to the balcony was extremely difficult to open as the track was all full of black gunk, and some of the carpet was pretty worn.) The kitchen was also well stocked, but missing a couple of staples (cutting board, for example) and there was one frying pan that was all worn through and peeling metal which got into whatever food you were cooking, lol.).
Overall, it was a decent place in a fantastic location, but it could use a thorough cleaning and some simple minor upgrades to the kitchen, which isn't a problem if you plan on eating out all the time.
