About this house rental

Our guesthouse is idyllically nestled in the Alpine foothills, surrounded by the towns of Oberammergau, Garmisch-Partenkirchen, and Murnau.

The atmosphere in the house is cozy and very welcoming—you’ll feel right at home there. The mountains, nearby lakes, and excellent infrastructure provide an ideal base for active leisure pursuits in both summer and winter. Bad Kohlgrub is a particularly good starting point for all kinds of excursions to nearby attractions.

Visit the royal castles of Linderhof (25 km), Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau (36 km), the Wieskirche (18 km), the monastery and the demonstration cheese dairy in Ettal (17 km), Oberammergau—home of the Passion Play—with its summer toboggan run (12 km), the monastery in Rottenbuch (12 km), Garmisch-Partenkirchen with the Zugspitze (30 km), and the metropolis of Munich (80 km).

Relax, find peace, and recharge—all of this is possible at our personally managed guesthouse.

A magnificent view of the great outdoors, meadows, and forests. In a sunny location right at the foot of our local mountain, the Hörnle (1,400 m), lies our personal idyll, our retreat.

Cozy bedding and fluffy towels are provided.

Upon request, we’ll gladly deliver fresh-from-the-oven rolls right to your apartment door.

Tourist tax is 2.75 EUR per person per night year-round, for guests 16 years and older. This is payable in cash on the day of arrival.

Please note that quiet hours must be observed starting at 10 p.m. (Outdoor areas... BUT: you can feel right at home inside the building)

This property is massive and easily accommodated our large group. The multiple kitchens and private bathrooms have everyone a sense of privacy and helped a ton. It’s a beautiful space! The bus in the town wasn’t running at the time that we were there so it did cause a bit of hassle but nothing that couldn’t be managed.

The house was beautifully decorated and had a perfect location for our Garmisch vacation. We had a group of 13 people (3 different families) coming together to enjoy a vacation together, and it was plenty big enough for our group. The owner was accommodating, and very responsive throughout the entire process. The beds were sizable, kitchen offered all items needed for cooking for days, the views were amazing with the house perched on the hillside, and many memories were made sitting around the table in these large rooms. There is a restaurant less than half a mile down the hill that accommodates German, English, and Spanish speaking tourists. The neighbors are friendly, and it is a perfect location to see the surrounding areas. Neuschwanstein, Linderhoff Palace, alpine coaster, and Oberammergau are all 20 minutes away by car. The cleanliness and organized areas were helpful to get around, and we easily settled in! Michaela was a great host and we would book this again when staying in the area.

Michaela was wonderful and made us feel right at home upon check-in. Her home is great for a large group of people! Our family stayed here for the passion play and it was close and an easy drive to Oberammergau. There was plenty of room for eight families, common spaces for us to sit, eat, and enjoy company. The views are breathtaking, with the Bavarian Alps as a backdrop. Whether you're a large group or a smaller one, I couldn't recommend this place more!
