It's not just on the night of the first of May that there is a lot of hustle and bustle at the Hexentanzplatz, probably the most famous place in the Harz near Thale after the Brocken. Witches, the witches' dance and Walpurgis Night - the Harz is shrouded in legend. The flat is located not far from the centre of Hohegeiß and yet in an absolutely quiet location, right next to hiking trails, the spa park, forest, cross-country ski trails and ski/toboggan lift. Braunlage with its skiing and hiking area on the Wurmberg is approx. 8 km away.

Hohegeiß is a district of Braunlage and, at 642 m above sea level, is the highest, state-recognised climatic health resort in the Harz Mountains. Thanks to the stimulating climate of the low mountain range, allergy sufferers can recover particularly well here. Thanks to its altitude, Hohegeiß is one of the most snow-sure places in the Harz. In winter, cross-country ski runs, various hiking trails and skiing and tobogganing opportunities start right on the doorstep (Hohegeiß ski centre and Panoramic Hotel). You can also experience floodlit tobogganing on a 250 m long toboggan run just a few metres away at the Panoramic Hotel. Skiing is very popular in Braunlage and Hohegeiß. A few years ago, a new ski area - Hexenritt - with new lifts was opened on Wurmberg/Braunlage. Braunlage now has not only the largest, but also the most modern ski area in northern Germany on the Wurmberg. In spring, summer and autumn, Hohegeiß offers the opportunity to go on wonderful excursions and hikes in the entire Harz region.
