LAINI LUXURY SUITES

A beautiful villa situated in a village in the hills above Mires (~5–10 minutes). The village is very quiet, though a little livelier in the evening. You’ll need a car to get around easily (allow 5–10 minutes to pop to Mires for shopping and 15–30 minutes to reach the nearest beaches or Matala). Claire, the host, is very helpful – a big thank you for the recommendations and the little touches. As a group of five, including three children (adults or teenagers), we were able to stay comfortably (we did regret the lack of blackout blinds in the living area and on the mezzanine – those sleeping there were woken early by the sun, so we didn’t get to make the most of the days… :D) The swimming pool is very clean and shared with the other properties managed by Claire. Nearby: the Temple of Phaistos, the Agia Trias site (<== less crowded, just as interesting as Phaistos), Lake Zaros for a few hikes, Kommos beach if you want to escape the crowded beaches of Matala (just one food truck and one parasol hire stall), Matala (don’t waste your time on the caves), Red Beach from Matala (beware: partly nudist beach!), Agiofaraggo Beach (drive as far as the refreshment bar if your car can manage it; the track leading there is tricky) A little further on: Agios Pavlos Beach The Psiloritis plateau for hiking (from Kourites, a small tarmac road that quickly turns into a very challenging track; we couldn’t make it all the way to the end, but we did spot plenty of vultures on the hills) As for restaurants, I’ll leave you to have a look around (we rather enjoyed ‘The Secret Garden’, which is just off the road towards Matala, past Pitsidia)

Fuldstændig fantastisk villa. Smuk indretning med alle facilitere og fuld køkkenudstyr til alt slags madlavning. Stort køleskab og fryser. Der var tænkt på alt. Nespresso maskine og kaffe, vaskepulver til vaskemaskinen. Skøn taresse med skygge og stort bord. Og virkelig dejlig pool. Alle spørgsmål blev besvaret lynhurtig.

Der var kun et soveværelse hvor man kunne lukke døren.

It was like a little Paradise in this cute little town, we really loved every little Detail. The modern Apartment and everything was spotless clean. Claire was so nice and helped us with very quick and always super friendly answers, we had the Best time relaxing at the Pool, it was super calm. She even treated us very well and Surprise us with her super delicious cake and some Mountain tea to keep as a Souvenir, definitely try her Restaurant recommendations. We really not only had a warm welcome but felt super welcome the whole time, this space is truely special! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!

Amazing property. So comfortable and lovely setting. The extra touches, cherries, pastries and wine on arrival was lovely. Spacious rooms, beautiful. Claire was so attentive and ready to answer any questions, gave some excellent restaurant recommendations as well. Pool was so relaxing, even though shared between the 3 suites/villas, it still felt like having a private pool. Highly recommend.

There is no parking at the property, although there is space to park just opposite, which was convenient enough.
