Fantastic, characterful property with intriguing animal sculptures. Fabulous views from the jacuzzi!

The location was absolutely first rate - spectacular views, quiet but the hosts were nearby so you didn't feel isolated. Amazing walks from the door, great food at nearby Strands Hotel and Sawmill Cafe.

Some of the fittings are a little tired and the wood burner couldn't be used at the time of our visit.

Lovely house with an insane view

The house is very well kept and clean, it is a very good size as my group of 8 had no trouble with space at any time. We ordered an Asda delivery for food at the beginning of the stay and at first were worried if it could arrive due to the heavy incline leading to the house but the driver was totally cool about it and was easily managed. The lake has on site parking which we were unaware of as google doesn’t give much help, it was roughly a 40 minute walk from the property and the route to start Scarfell Pike is 2 hours or 15 minute car journey. The view from the front garden is amazing to wake up to each morning, paired with the lovely hot tub in the evening we all had a brilliant time and will be coming back!

Only complaint was that the barbecue was slightly underwhelming and smaller than expected but ultimately ended up fine as we managed to cook with it each day.

Perfect and peaceful space with exceptional views

What I really like about the property is how peaceful and serene the environment feels. The views are absolutely exceptional—truly something special to wake up to. And the interior is just as impressive, with amazing decorations in each room that really give the space character and charm.

The view from the property is brilliant! Was very clean and well maintained. Lots of space, loved the little spot at the entrance where we could sit and just star gaze at night.

Spectacular visit

What can I say , the house is absolutely stunning the pictures don’t do it justice. So much character . The views are out of this world love how you can relax in hot tub overlooking that amazing view . David was at hand whenever we needed anything or help and was easily contacted . We asked if he could replace bulb for the lamp as it had blown, he did this straight away . He lives next door but that did not change our stay at all , he made us feel very welcome and also had a little drink in the garden with us and chatted then left us to it ,top guy :-) . I would highly recommend staying here . Came with 6 of my friends n each one of us has said we definitely will be returning here

Rude host

The property is in a stunning location with great views. The house itself has an old charm.

The owner is very rude as some other guests have pointed out, very aggressive and defensive if you are to make a request/complaint. We were 7 of us and we required more than 4 loo rolls for 3 nights but were made to feel uncomfortable when we asked. He said he was shocked to provide more rolls! Beware: There is a connecting door to the owners residence that he is probably using to come and go as he pleases. We realised this as some doors were locked in our absence which the owner claimed was done by the cleaning lady! However there is no mention of any cleaner coming in during our absence and we should have been notified if so. The ‘cleaning lady’ definitely did not do any cleaning or tidying implying that the owner has entered the premises in our absence!!! Not safe!

This is a perfect place to stay for a walking holiday and peace and quite with amazing scenery

Perfect location for walking scafell pike views were lovely and hot tub was perfect after long day walking. 2 miles walk to Wastwater lake for a swim. Wasdale campsite entrance which is entrance to car park for Lake Head car park is perfect place to start you walk up scarfell pike £9 all day parking, you are less than a mile from this car park to Wasdale Inn for lunch after a long walk.

Maybe a washing machine would be handy if you had a long stay but everything else was perfect

Windsor Farm House is amazing, I was in a party of 4 friends for a hiking weekend up, scafell pike. The farmhouse location was perfect for us, and after a long day hiking, the hottub was the icing on the cake. The bedrooms are a good size, and the beds are so comfortable. We didn't find one thing wrong with the farmhouse and will definitely recommend Windsor farmhouse to friends and family. If you want a place for relaxation or for walking, this is the place to stay. We really enjoyed our stay a big thank you to the owners, we are really sorry that we broke one of the wine glasses. Many thanks Mr Roberts

Parking is a bit tricky if there are multiple vehicles. It is the price of having a remote stay in a scenic area. Did not bother me, just a potential negative for some travellers.

Beautiful location, great views. Spacious, comfortable, mostly well-furnished. Excellent customer service (kettle replacement couldn’t have been any quicker). Interesting and unusual collection of objects and decorations!

Water pressure in the showers was low, a disappointment after a day’s walking. Chairs needed for sitting at the table.

Really enjoyed our stay I thought the property was amazing and we would definitely return.

I came here for walking with three other friends and we all wanted our own room and space and this property ticked all the boxes for us and it didn’t disappoint. The cottage is really spacious with a beautiful and unique style. The bedrooms were a good size and comfortable beds - much needed if you’ve been out walking all day!. Great location, peaceful and absolutely amazing views. The hot tub was a decent size and great way to relax after a long days walking.

WOW WOW WOW!!!! Unbelievable house & location!! A true “Jewel” in the heart of the Lake District! The view is indescribable until you are there & witness the beauty & tranquility of the surroundings!! The house is just so adorable & the hot tub caps it off!! Met the owner David on the first evening & he was so accommodating, but left us alone stating if needed we should contact him straight away with any issues…. naturally we didn’t need to make that call as the place is just PERFECT!!!! Thank you David & thank you Windsor Farm House….. 🥰❤️🥰

If you get the chance to stay here, I’d 100% recommend it, a fantastic old farm house with a modern interior, amazing views and facilities. David the host was really quick to answer any questions we had via WhatsApp.

Could do with a few more shelves to stow your gear in (especially in the bathrooms) Would also be nice if there was a tumble dryer or a better way to dry out the towels after using them. We hung them over the radiators every night in the Kitchen.

There was an issue with the water when we visited however, this was no fault of the owner, it was simply due to a drought, but it meant that the water pressure was low and that we had to stagger showers out throughout the day. Only other thing was the WiFi wasnt the best, but that wasnt end of the world
