The Big "W" Ranch House

This property is visually stunning. The location and views are unbelievable and the ranch theme throughout works perfectly in this very historic building. The features are amazing and there’s something to see everywhere you look. We were a group of middle aged men travelling to take on scafell pike so the location was both ideal and idillic. The rooms were all spacious and comfortable and the multiple bathrooms were all well equipped to meet our needs and visually spectacular. The hot tub was the cherry on the cake and the views from in it were endless and perfect for relaxing after our hike. The location is remote and isolated and the lack of a taxi company in the area meant that we utilised the kitchen to cook our evening meal on the first night and breakfast the next day. The guest garden was simply beautiful

There’s not much not to like, but if I had any criticism at all it would be that the oven, hob and kitchenware could do with replacing as they have been heavily used. The crockery glassware and cutlery were all plentiful but the actual pans for cooking etc were a little tired.

Fun place to stay but the host had a crazy amount of house rules

There was an animal emergency whilst we were there involving one of the owners cattle, 5 emergency vehicles including 3 fire engines attended but the host was not contactable. He did however contact me later the same evening to advise I had not followed his rules on car parking! There was not enough cutlery or crockery for the 8 people who stayed to eat together although potentially the property is for 9

Stunning views and a beautiful quiet location on the farm. Perfect for our stay with Buddhist Monks who want peace and quiet, avoiding crowds.

Locatuon was beautiful. Lovely house.

No infornarion on local amenities. The host told me to look it up on the internet.
