Las Brisas Apartment, Salobrena

The apartment is spacious, clean and has a lovely large terrace with great views. The pool is large and the surrounding gardens well kept. The location is excellent being close to the beach and the chiringuitos.

The apartment is really good BUT there are several issues that should have been addressed before our arrival - after all we were paying top wack. 1. The air con unit on the terrace and in one of the bedrooms leaked water badly over tiles. This made the flooring very slippery and dangerous - especially with young kids. 2. The pergola over the terrace was on it's last legs. One of the main support legs was rotten and not fixed down, also a couple of the cross beams were also rotten. This meant that an awning could not be put up as any wind would collapse it - in hot July this was essential. 3. The parosol provided was broken at the winding mechanism point and although it could be raised, was bent over. 4. The fridge was too small for the apartment size and the door kept springing open. Poor. 5. The extendable clothes drier on the terrace came off the wall when first touched. I had to do a light repair and also put up a longer washing line. This is a really lovely spacious apartment and I would definitely go back but the above issues should be sorted before renters come in. Admittedly, the pergola is a bigger problem but the cost should reflect all the above issues. Oh, and it is described as "Front Line" - it isn't!! It is set a couple of hundred metres from the beach with many high rise apartments/ houses in front.

Location was great. Close to the sea and the old town. Close to many restaurants.

The host contacted me before my arrival and arranged to meet me at the apartment. Very well organised; the host was very helpful; the house had absolutely everything we needed and was very comfortable.

The swimming pool was closed. It only opens in summer. It was very disappointing

Graham was very friendly and understood I was in a rush so helped show me the essentials before I had to rush off.
