The location was excellent. Very close to Sol Square and Plaza Mayor. There are supermarkets nearby. The house was generally clean. There were plenty of utensils for use in the kitchen. Overall, I can recommend it. Communication with the host was easy, and they helped immediately when there was a problem. I would recommend it for a short trip of a few days.
The bed in the bedroom was very noisy. The water in the shower ran out quickly, but it's not a problem if you shower quickly. The shower head leaked water.

Amazing location. Comfortable apartment with all amenities. Lots of space and light. I was able to work in the apartment for one of the days- the WiFi was good, and then able to walk to all the main sites on the other day. Key pick-up and drop-off was easy. Grateful for the place to store luggage after check-out.
The balcony door would not shut properly or lock from the inside. The balcony was also shared by the neighboring apartment. I mentioned this to the host who 'assured me' that it was safe - the neighbouring apartment was also rented out by her. However, ass a woman staying on her own, this did not 100% make me feel safe to sleep at night.

The location
The shower leaked water easily leading to pools of water getting created with no way to drain them. Only 2 towels provided with no easy way to dry them. The flat is quite cold except for the bedroom due to it having AC. The hot water is provided using a tank which means that water can go cold during a shower and it takes a long time to get back some hot water, so each person must shower quickly and then wait an hour or so to make sure the next one will have enough hot water.
Circuit breaker also tripped twice during my stay, first time it was unknown why as we came back to the flat and all power was out so had to contact the host who instructed to reset the electrical box. Second time was while using the electric kettle. This means the host has a very low electric load contracted for the flat, they should increase this to a more acceptable amount to avoid the discomfort this causes for guests.
I would even say avoid if visiting during winter as Madrid can get quite cold over night which makes these problems worse.
Only one set of keys provided and no one nearby to provide a second set, should just provide 2 in advance if there is more than 1 guest.
