Amazing place to stay, we were sorry we couldn't stay longer.

Hohenwarte is located in the "middle of nowhere" which was the place I was looking for. We were amazed by the surrounding meadows and animals in the property. You can walk to the riverside and sea. The small town of Hojer is very lovely and worth visiting too. The hosts were very welcoming. There is also shared kitchen and a dining area which I found as an advantage.

The rooms could be modernized a little. There were spiders and flies everywhere but it's nothing we wouldn't expect. :D

Great place especially for families with children and/or pets.

Great rural hotel with rooms converted from an old barn. Most friendly hostess and other personnel. Delicious continental breakfast (for a separate fee). The most attractive features of this place are endless gree-field areas with channels and streams, and many types of animals from horses and donkeys to deer and rabbits to goats and friendly dogs. Many guests - including our family - come with their pets who really enjoy walking and playing in the vast areas around the farm.

Since the accommodation assumes options of both meals at the restaurant and self-catering, some cheap essential items in the kitchen (like salt/pepper and sugar) would help.

Lot of animals and children loved them. On the morning there was also a possibility to feed animals.

Very positive attitude from local personal. Lot to do for children, good breakfast, a tour in the morning around the farm and animals. Big kitchen area, huge parking lot, every room has its own shower.

Shower curtain did not cover full area and the water reached to the sink and toilet.

Uformelt og personligt, dejligt møde med naturen. Et hyggeligt sted, hvor der er plads til børn og voksne. En fantastisk historie der er omkring huset. Mange fine udendørsområder. Vi kommer gerne igen

Horror. Nacht im Auto verbracht. Gastgeber null einsichtig.

Ich musste eine Nacht im Auto schlafen, da das Zimmer im DG an einem Sommertag unerträglich heiß war. Leider ließ sich die Heizung nicht vollständig ausschalten und nachdem man kurz das Fenster geöffnet hatte, die gesamte Nacht von Stechmücken gequält, da kein Fliegenschutz vorhanden war. Es gibt wohl sehr viele Stechmücken in direkter Nähe der Unterkunft wegen Tümpel und Tierhaltung. Um überhaupt noch wenig Schlaf zu bekommen, habe ich am Ende von Mückenstichen übersät im Auto geschlafen. Und das Ganze für über 130 EUR pro Nacht!! In der Nacht war niemand erreichbar an den ich mich wenden konnte und nach Abreise zeigte sich der Gastgeber auch null kulant. Horror. Auch ohne dieses Erlebnis wäre die Unterkunft deutlich zu teuer, die Ausstattung ist sehr einfach. Völlig überteuert. Nie wieder.

Gemytlig miljö för barnfamiljer.

Personalen var supertrevlig. Gården var perfekt för barn ( och vuxna) med djur, lekplats, pool och en massa bänkar att sitta på.

En afstressende perle ved Vadehavet

Beliggenheden var helt klart det allerbedste.. At være så tæt på Vadehavet og alligevel i læ bag diget Naturen skøn og stier overalt.. spændende med vadehavets mange tusinder af fugle og sort sol/ hvid sol ikke langt derfra.. ...Den rolige stemning på gården og venligt personale..simpelt og godt sted og meget afstressende..nød virkelig denne tidslomme Maden god og gammeldags

Stedet bar præg af slid og ælde og ikke rent allevegne..Specielt i fællesrummet var det noget forsømt.. Flere af dyrene har ikke de bedste betingelser...for mange dådyr i lille indhegning og fugle i små voliere ..duer, perlehøns etc..Ingen stor "flyveplads"..
