Dom na skarpie

The location is exceptional. Very quiet and scenic. The host is welcoming, helpful, and friendly - a good companion for a chat. The photos are all accurate. There's enough room for 4 people. Note that you'll have to use 2 queen sized beds. There's an AC installed but we didn't need to use it even on hot days. The evenings and nights are chilly so you don't need extra cooling. The garden is beautiful and huge, perfect if you want to be alone for a while. The library and selection of books is stunning. You can use the place as a base for your close and far trips. The roads are pretty OK, you should be able to travel comfortably in a normal car. There are 3 shops in a nearby village, and even more a bit further (including bars and restaurants). Make sure to have fish at Płaska (zander - snadacz and tench - lin highly recommended).

If you are looking for the places around - this is the one you will not regret. I can definitely recommend this place! The host is very kind and supportive (i.e. for us microwave was mandatory, so she organized it for us, even though it was not offered), the territory is extraordinary. In every way, you feel that this place was built for personal use in mind, not for easy money. This place would rather not work for loud parties, but for the quiet family time off it's magnificent!

The bedroom on the second floor was getting unpleasantly hot during the hot sunny days (it was +30 during our visit mostly), however, the guy visited us to check the house and the host is planning to install A/C in the near weeks. The refrigerator is small, for us, it was a bit tricky to fit BBC stuff / beers for me and all the child food, but we've managed. There's only one local shop in the area with very limited variety. If you need more - you have to go by car elsewhere - 15min to Plaska or 30min to Sejny/Augustow (like for BBC or fancy beers), so prepare upfront but keep in mind a small fridge (or ask the host to keep it cool for you).

Cicha i spokojna okolica.

Niestety pobyt pozostawił spory niedosyt, głównie ze względu na stan czystości i wyposażenia. Największym rozczarowaniem była toaleta – w kabinie prysznicowej oraz wokół niej pojawił się grzyb, deska sedesowa była połamana, a spłuczka nieszczelna (woda cały czas leciała). Dodatkowo farba odchodziła ze ścian, a podłoga była bardzo brudna. Toaleta, która zwykle jest kluczowym elementem komfortu w obiekcie, wymaga gruntownego remontu i wymiany sprzętów. W pozostałej części obiektu również widać oznaki zużycia. Pościel i ręczniki były mocno wysłużone – a przecież są to elementy niedrogie, które w dużym stopniu wpływają na odbiór pobytu. Dodatkowo w aneksie kuchennym przydałby się ekspres do kawy – nawet najprostszy. Podsumowując: miejsce ma potencjał, ale wymaga zdecydowanie większej dbałości o czystość i podstawowe udogodnienia, by spełniało dzisiejsze standardy.
