About this house rental

Top quality, uniquely designed log cabin in the middle of Door County, just a half mile down the road, a 10 minute walk or 5 minute bike ride to the shores of Lake Michigan in the small town of Jacksonport. This picturesque log cabin sits on 4 acres in Jacksonport which offers a small town grocery store, local restaurants, hiking trails, electric bike and kayak rentals and tours. The Jacksonport beach is a beautiful public beach and park within walking distance. I do have bikes in the basement you are welcome to ride to town or 4 miles to Whitefish Dunes State park and Cave Point County park or through the country side by the local farms, very quintessential Door County! All 5 state parks have groomed hiking trails and biking trails, you can rent bikes at the Peninsula state park or right in Jacksonport to get to Whitefish Dunes state park.

The cabin is centrally located so you can get to Sister Bay, Ephraim, Egg Harbor, Fish Creek, Baileys Harbor or Sturgeon Bay in less than 20 minutes. Whitefish Dunes State Park is 10 minute drive and Peninsula State Park 20 minutes away. Newport and Potawatomi State park are a little farther away, maybe 30 minutes away. Great local parks, beaches, restaurants, shopping and activities offered in all the villages.

Open concept great room/kitchen, with big windows overlooking the 4 acres of woods and a historical barn in my back yard, there's a second gathering room, a small cozy family room with fireplace, and a screened in porch with a table to eat or play games at and patio with Adirondack chairs to enjoy the outdoors. There is a fire pit to hang out by at night. There is a full size well supplied kitchen with dishwasher, stove, oven, refrigerator, both drip coffee maker and Keurig, paper towel, coffee supplies, everything you would except in a kitchen. This cabin is my private home and hope all guests respect it as they would their own home. It is best suited for two couples. There is room for 1-2 adults or 2 children to sleep comfortably in the queen bedroom but there is no attached bathroom. I do allow up to 6 people but that includes children. I have a strict limit of 6 guests and no pets please. King bedroom on the main floor with en suite bath, another king bedroom upstairs with private full bath and open loft with a twin bed, not a bedroom. Queen bedroom on the main floor with only a common half bath near by. All of the common living space is on the main floor. The lower level is a basement with essential supplies for the outdoor fire pit, bean bag toss game, no living space, it’s all on the top 2 floors.

I do have security cameras on the outside of the cabin to make sure there are no pets on the property and the number of guests you registered for is accurate. Under no circumstance do I allow more than 6 guests visiting or staying over, you will be asked to leave if either occurs.

There is high speed WIFI, the router with the password on it is located next to the new front load washer and dryer. There are Eeros WIFI extenders throughout the home. There are 3 TV’s all connected for streaming. One upstairs, 2 on the main level, 65 inch in the main living room, smaller one in the smaller family room. All the kitchen appliances are top quality. I do provide the basics including coffee and shampoo and conditioner in the bathrooms.

There are a few baby toys and children’s books. If you need equipment like a pack and play, booster seat or a stroller, please let me know ahead of time and I’ll be sure and have those things available for you.

I will leave a house manual for you upon arrival how the central A/C and heat works and all the details you need to make yourselves at home in my home! Check-in is after 3:00pm, check-out is before 11:00am.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at this cabin! It was spotless from top to bottom, and you could tell the hosts truly care about creating a warm, welcoming, and extremely comfortable experience. Communication was excellent—quick, clear, and friendly. The cabin itself was incredibly comfortable and relaxing, and situated on a quiet/peaceful property yet very accessible to everything you’d want to explore anywhere in Door County (e.g., hiking at Cave Point, bike rentals at Peninsula State Park, traditional fish boil in Ephraim, etc). We left with wonderful memories of a weekend we’ll cherish forever. Highly recommend and would love to come back again!

This was an absolutely beautiful home for our Door County family vacation! Spacious and tasteful decor, incredibly good mattresses, and a fully-equipped kitchen. We really appreciated the bikes and helmets that were available, and enjoyed the wooded surroundings (we were visited by a family of deer several times!). Our host was a lovely communicator and any question we had was quickly answered. It was a great place to stay!

We enjoyed Erika's home very much. We were 6 adults and there was plenty of room. The cabin was spotless when we arrived. The kitchen is very well equipped with anything you could need. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms had plenty of hot water. It was hot when we were there and the AC ran very well. The cabin has a nice fire pit with plenty of wood to use that we enjoyed. It is in a very quiet area, so we all slept well.On Tuesdays, just a short walk from the cabin is a great Farmer's market. There is a beach there also that we were able to launch our kayak from. It was nice being on the quieter side of Door County with the popular spots only a 20min drive away. I highly recommend Erika's home- we had a very relaxing time!
