Although the cottage is not far from two main roads, it is so quiet and feels like it is deep in the forest miles from anywhere. Paths straight from the door allow for short walks and even greater solitude. For the access code, to order towels etc you need to set up an account via the owners' portal. It makes the owners feel a little distanced but they always answered messages sent via booking.com. The approach to the cottage is on an unsealed road then an (also unsealed) drive which adds to the feeling of remoteness. Inside there is a super, large living and dining area. One of the double bedrooms is off this space with a cavernous and modern ensuite wet room. The sun room (with its gorgeous views) is off this bedroom so slightly limits its use if the occupant wants an early night (though there is access from the patio). The other bedroom has a shower room while the toilet is off the hallway; the back bedroom up a small flight of stairs is cute though needs to use the showers in one of the other bedrooms. The kitchen comes really well equipped! All the appliances look new and we had everything we needed. There isn't much space for prepping food and, because it is at the back of the house, the cook misses out on the socialising in the living area or on the patio. The patio area is fabulous and probably the making of the cottage – and we sat out there for breakfast and every evening. The cottage is on slightly higher ground than the clearing in front of the patio so the vista is incredible. The laundry room has everything, and the boiler room is great for storing bicycles. The only 'good to know' that I can think of is to remember that this is a cottage in the forest so comes complete with spiders etc; if super-clean sterility is your thing look elsewhere. And I don't know how it would fare in hot weather as the windows don't open (they have vents) and the small bedroom alone had three fans in it.

Location is amazing. Right in the middle of the woods with a fabulous view. The house is very spacious and well maintained. The beds were excellent.

There is nothing that I didn't like. Some aspects of the house are dated but this was not a problem for me. Everything was in perfect working order, Well maintained and clean. If it ain't broken why fix it.

De ligging, midden in de bossen. Verder alles wat we nodig hadden was er aanwezig (behalve een koffiezetapparaat (Senseo wel aanwezig), maar deze hadden we zelf 1 meegenomen).

Behalve het ontbreken van een koffiezetapparaat kan ik niks bedenken.
