WORST STAY OF OUR LIVES! NEVER STAY HERE!!!!! Booking.com stepped up & gave a refund!

This review has Nothing to do with Booking.com! The view of the ocean was great, and hearing it from your room was great!

Upon checking in, going out to dinner, coming back to celebrate our anniversary, we brought a cake. We started getting dishes and a knife out and found food stuck on dishes, coffee left in cups in the cupboard, it was DISGUSTING!!!!!!!!!! Guest services did not answer and it took two weeks to get any money back as we did not stay the second night. Booking.com is the only one to step up and give us a refund of any kind. Evolve only tried to not reply and ignore us!!!!!!! I would never stay at this place again!!!!!!!

Didn’t meet expectations based on online pictures

Comfortable pillows Seasoning, kitchen supplies, clean towels

Cramped living, musty smell, run down, multiple broken items or things that don’t work properly, no screens on door, flies everywhere, you can’t walk in the sand outside the house without shoes on r/t stickers, stairs are a fall hazard and it’s not safe for children, pots and pans are really old and poor quality.

Inadequate for the price . Dangerous stairs access to bedrooms, which were all upstairs.

Location was very good

Truth about access to all upstairs bedrooms. Stairs were narrow and a very dangerous 90° turn. No landing, angled steps. Trip hazard floor elevation change near top of stairs, no pot holders. No AC WITH NO SCREENS. FLYS BECAME VERY ANNOYING INSIDE.le

Evolve property management, and the property owner should be ashamed of themselves for this listing!

The booking process through Evolve was fraudulent. Additional rental charges were not mentioned during my search process, and then were applied only when I booked the reservation. The property was not presented accurately, and there was no visable signage for the property. The listed property name was nowhere to be found even after we finally found the property. The property was not well maintained, and the maintenance contact pretended to be surprised with the lack of maintenance. The property also smelled overwhelming with cleaning fluids upon arrival. Opening windows to clear the odor was a poor choice because most of the windows and also the sliding door did not have screens, to allow plenty of bugs to invade the property while it was airing out.

Great beach access but overpriced

It was very clean. Location and beach access were great. Upstairs was nicely updated and decorated.

The "stocked" kitchen didn't include salt and pepper or a decent frying pan. I thought it was overpriced in comparison to other places I've stayed at.

Renter BEWARE!!!!

Only ocean access was a positive.

We attempted to stay in cottage 1 July 7-9. We left for a hotel after the first night. We arrived before 4; however, we did not bed and or expect to check in early. We spoke to the cleaning gentleman upon arrival who said the cottage was not rented and guests were not expected. We did not interfere with his work any further than to let him know and show him the reservation confirmation. The owner blamed us for bothering the cleaner putting him behind schedule. Checking in was never the issue. The issue lies with construction taking place to which the owner states was disclosed. The bathroom sink handle was broken upon arrival. The first morning brought construction workers with dogs. One of which barked for several hours in the morning. Assuming someone complained because it stopped after several hours before we left for a hotel nearby. Additionally, the bathroom sink completely fell of of the wall when my mother placed her hand on the edge after getting out of the shower. It was unable to be used. She was not injured, thankfully. We were blamed for this, too. The owner has been less than accommodating to the issues. Has refused even a one night refund and blames the renters for all problems and issues. Because several attempts have been made to connect with the owner to resolve, I am posting this review. It’s not worth the half of $900 spent for two nights that we are asking in a refund, but I hope it prevents another from facing this issue and renting this cottage or the others the owner has available. Owner /host: if you want to talk further, have something to offer as a partial refund, I look forward to hearing from you. You have my number.
