No Breakfast at Tiffany's

The location is excellent. The towels were soft and fluffy. The bathroom was modern and the room was big. The staff try to be helpful in difficult circumstances

The breakfast was very dull and the corridors can be very long in this unusual building which was probably an office at one time. The lift isn't always working and the floor can be a bit hazardous at times. It can be lively at night/ early morning due to the central location

Hot in the city and it's not New York

The reception staff were lovely and my room was huge with a table and chairs..Refrigerator and microwave. Hospitality tray. Plentiful hot water and a modern bathroom. The air conditioning was very efficient

The way some of the management were towards certain guests. There's definitely a hint of tomato plants in the communal areas. The building was most likely an office block in a previous incarnation. Some parts of the building weren't very nice. The no pyjamas rule at breakfast was something that made me wonder. The guests were a motley crew. For one night it was fine but not longterm instead of a proper home for families.

I didn't like being asked for photo ID at check in, the major hotel chains do not do this, not everyone has a driving licence or a passport and we do not have an compulsory ID card system in the UK.

Awful - smelly hotel with rude, incompetent staff

It’s only saving grace was the location.

I booked this hotel 9th April for my boyfriend’s birthday and was extremely disappointed with the stay we experienced. When we checked in at 3pm, it was hot in the hotel but absolutely boiling hot in our room. We went back down to reception and asked to move rooms and were told she would speak to the manager and to give her 10-15 minutes but that she would get us two extra fans in the meantime. I also asked for an iron which she said would be sent to our room. I called back down in 15 minutes and she said she couldn’t move us but the fans and iron were on the way. Half an hour later these had still not arrived so we told reception we were going out and could they leave these in our room and she said yes. When we arrived back around 10pm I asked the same receptionist if the two fans and iron were now in our room and she said yes they should be. None of the these items were in the room and it was if anything hotter than when we had arrived. We went back down to reception and asked to speak to the manager and to say we needed to move rooms as we could feel the heat difference in our side of the building compared to the rest of the hotel which the manager acknowledged that part of the building is bad. I find this unacceptable considering there was a red weather warning in place for extreme temperatures and we had booked so far in advance. He said he could not move us that night as they were fully booked so I asked to be moved to a cooler room the next day. He kept making excuses saying he wasn’t sure and he might only have 2 or 3 rooms available when we clearly only need one room. So many members of staff we spoke to were incompetent and rude with a really poor attitude and next to no customer service. When we asked again about the fans we were told there was now only one fan left in the building which they gave us as they had not bothered to do this any of the other times we asked.

Only downside, can hear when people open/close doors to adjacent rooms or if they are walking by and talking. This is the only downside I can think of, although this is the case in pretty much all hotels!

Nothing, a terrible experience and the fact it was stated parking was available but wasn't created problems and increased costs. Staff have a "don't care" attitude.

Everything, no temperature control to room, dirty with stained walks, cracked sink, breakfast was almost a joke, apart from a big room with an odd smell the hotel is severely overrated!

Upsetting as they didnt have a room for us, but thankfully it was sorted out.

The young staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and sorted out with ease our many problems on the day. The location for the centre of Plymouth was ideal.

OYO messed up our booking. Even though we had a room booked with them for months when we turned up it wasnt available. They told us they had overbooked by 50 rooms! Luckily they had one room left due to a cancellation so we paid for the room again (you have subsequently refunded us). The rooms do not have windows that open and it was very hot so they got us a fan.

Tiny reception conceals large hotel with lovely large, clean, modern rooms

Huge, modern room, freshly decorated. Large modern shower room. Huge, comfortable bed. All very clean and tidy. Great breakfast, friendly and helpful staff.

Just minor niggles. Insufficient slope on the wet room floor so that the shower water spread into the rest of the bathroom. Tap a bit loose on the wash basin.
