About this house rental
This cottage is situated on 5 beautiful acres, and bordered by the Sheep river. Private & quiet, five minutes from Turner Valley. Play at the river, lounge on the deck, relax in the hot tub! Fish, hike, climb cliffs, and explore swimming holes. In winter, cross-country ski, snow shoe, snow mobile. Sleeps 6 inside, Three additional sleeping pods, each with a queen bed, also sleep 6. RVs & tents are welcome. Just 30 minutes from Calgary, perfect for a vacation or an impromptu get-away!

I am one of those people who likes to find peace near water. If you are too, then visit this adorable cottage resting along the delightful Sheep River. I enjoyed visiting this place so much that I want to come back again and again. It is a nice place!
This gem is so close to Calgary and Okotoks, it makes impromptu getaways a reality. Less than an hour from Calgary, 15 minutes from Okotoks and 5 minutes from Turner Valley, it's an easy escape to indulge at.
With spectacular outdoor beauty, this property offers quietness and serenity, allowing one to be lost in nature.
The cottage itself is sparkling clean and has all the amenities one needs.
With one queen bed in the bedroom and two queen sofa-beds in the living room, the cottage sleeps six . From the master bedroom you can listen to the river whisper deep into the night!
Three additional sleeping pods, each with a queen bed, sleep another six. The pods are available at $150/per pod for the duration of your stay (not per night!). I highly recommend the pods! They are fantastic and allow additional privacy for guests.
Guests may also bring motorhomes, tents, etc.
The huge, oversized deck, fire pit and massive lawns create spaces for both relaxation and fun activities.
Summertime invites dips into the fresh, crystal-clear swimming holes. Nighttime brings laughter and conversation in the hot tub and gatherings around the large outdoor firepit.
Local microbreweries, eateries and artisan shops are a stone's throw away. If you want more hiking and scenery, Kananaskis Country is nearby!
This hide-away is highly recommended for your next girl's weekend, family get a way, couples escape or group retreat! Check it out! Cozy, relaxing and quiet. Just the mini vacation you need - all the amenities of comfort with the outdoor feel!

Visit Turner Valley Golf and Country club for a round of golf or dining out. A scenic drive to Kananaskis Country is just minutes away.
River Rock's caretaker is available throughout your stay via phone, text or in person when needed! Ian lives on site in his own mini cabin with Jack his rescue dog and two cats.
Firewood is provided, and if you need additional wood Ian is happy to provide for $20 a wheelbarrow.

Good Vibes! This is an awesome property with a cozy cabin and spectacular views of the river! Secluded yet on the edge of town. The deer are comfortable walking around in the yard while the eagles circle above. We took our bernedoodle and it is disneyland for dogs! A special shout out to the Caretaker, Ian and his sidekick Jack, they made it all the more special

Overall this property was beautiful. The bathroom situation is odd but the backyard is stunning. The cabin is adorable and we found it had everything we needed in the kitchen. The on site caretaker was lovely and helpful and his 2 cats and dog (Jack) made the stay just that much better. We had a wonderful day in the river and overall I would highly recommend booking this place. The only thing I would say is read the listing carefully! The “pull out beds” are not really beds and there was no bedding for them. I was in a pod (super comfy and cute) and I was very comfortable but the girls sleeping in the living room said they were very uncomfortable. The other thing is, bring drinking water! We were not quite prepared for the smell of the well water but also, it is a rural property (which is why I booked it) so that shouldn’t have been a surprise but, bring your own drinking water! Again! Highly recommend it, the area is just beautiful and you will have a great time.

Area was beautiful, peaceful, quiet, very private. Cottage itself was cute, but we were expecting a little bit more space for the amount of people that stayed:) Also, the bathroom situation worked fine for a 2 night stay, but not ideal for a longer term stay with that many people. Overall, it was very cute & cozy to stay in. Fees were higher than we anticipated. 300/night sounds like a great deal at the outset, till it's booked and then the fees came, and it was more than we expected.

We had such a great visit at the River Rock Retreat!
Ian and Jack warmly greeted us and told us the ins and outs of the place including good hiking suggestions and floating routes! We walked, we floated, enjoyed some R&R on the deck and in the hot tub! This spot is absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed every minute of it!! We will be back!!
