The Panama isthmus connects North and South America, and it is bordered by the Caribbean Sea and the Pacific Ocean. It is a small country full of mesmerizing diversity, exciting contrasts and a variety of interesting micro-climates. It attained world status with the opening of the Panama Canal is 1914.
A short stay in Panama City with a tour of the Panama Canal and a nice wine/dine evening in the pulsating historical Old City of Casco Viejo is a perfect way to start your trip and get in the Panamian mode. You might continue your journey by choosing to spend time in the highlands, the Islands of the Caribbean Sea or enjoy the vast rain forests that are home to amazing flora and fauna., or experience diversified rich and vibrant indigenous cultures. Travel down the Azuera Peninsula, or travel up to the Chiriqui Highlands with its rugged mountains dotted with coffee fincas.
The highlight of your trip would be your stay with us on the Pacific Side of Panama across the bay from the little authentic fishing village of Boca Chica. It is here that the clocks stand still. No chic shopping, no jumping night-life. No yellow arches ... experience the real Panama.
Boca Chica is the gateway to the archipelago islands in the Gulfo of Chiriquí, a portion of which is home to the renowned Parque Nacional Marino Golfo de Chiriqui. Tropical islands, water sports and world-renowned deep-sea fishing await you here.
Panama has its own currency called Balboa. The American Dollar has the identical value and is the accepted currency throughout Panama.
THE PATH IS THE GOAL:
It is in this little fishing village of Boca Chica on the Pacific Ocean where your off-shore adventure starts. You will transfer to the island of Boca Brava where we invite you to join us at our home " Isla Bambu" - your personal holiday address for a luxurious corner of peace and paradise.
You can either take one of the local fishing boats directly from Boca Chica to the estate's private, new dock which includes a remote-controlled platform or you can cross for a 4-minute boat-ride to the Boca Brava dock. We will then pick you up. It is an 8-minute ride through this lush island with its thick jungle, forest landscape. You will pass some of the indigenous families - members of the Indian tribe Ngobe-Bugle, who work on the island Fincas. During your stay, you will witness an abundance of wild-life and be greeted by a chorus of howler-monkeys and a medley of some of the about 300 bird species who make Boca Brava their home. If you prefer to walk from the dock, it is only a beautiful 15-minute hike on a shaded road trail.
Enjoy beautiful ocean-front water views from your private Studios by the pool or a jungle view from The Cottage. There are additional sleeping possibilities in the Sport Club House, if you have extended family traveling with you. You have access to a refreshing infinity pool as well as gradual stairs down to the beach. The natural beach “changes its dress” with high and low tide offering a sandy shoreline with flat rocks. Take a leisurely walk or kayak trip around the bay to the white sands of Coca Beach. Perhaps you'll find a coconut or some exceptional seashells.

THE ROOMS:
“Isla Bambu” Island Estate has two studios with full kitchenettes with private separate entrances. For extended families we have two Casitas as additional options.
1. “Brisa del Mar” is a studio accommodation located in the East Wing of the main house with its private, separate entrance. Full-length windows reveal a stunning view of the ocean and the jungle. It has a Queen-size bed, fine-quality bedding and an exclusive comfort mattress, a large double-sink bathroom with amenities and a separate walk-in “tropical rain” shower. There is a walk-in closet with a safe. The room has WIFI, flat screen Smart TV, air conditioning and fans. Enjoy a snack or meal at the bar in your fully-equipped kitchenette or sit outside on the terrace. A few steps away is the refreshing infinity pool and the beach. Pool as well as beach towels are available for you. The Tennis court and Sport's Area is right up the trail with an abundance of fun, sport and game activities.
2. “Puesta del Sol” is a Studio accommodation located in the West Wing of the main house with its private separate entrance. Full-length corner windows showcase the peaceful Gulf of Chiriqui bay on one side and Pacific Ocean islands on the other. It has a King-size bed with fine-quality bedding and an exclusive comfort mattress. A large double-sink bathroom with amenities, a picture-window bathtub and separate walk-in “tropical rain” shower adds to the deluxe atmosphere. There is a large walk-in closet with a safe. The room has WIFI, flat screen Smart TV, Air conditioning and Fans. Enjoy a snack or meal at the bar in your fully-equipped kitchenette or sit outside on the terrace. A few steps away is the refreshing infinity pool and steps to the beach. Pool towels as well as beach towels are available for you. The Tennis Court and Sport's Area is right up the trail with an abundance of fun, sport and game activities.
3. "The Sport Club House"” is a one-room Casita located on the tennis court surrounded by lush forestry. It houses the fitness room and serves as additional sleeping options for guests on a pull-out sofa for an extended family. It has a bathroom/shower with amenities, TV for videos, music system, air conditioning and fans. A nice stroll away is the refreshing infinity pool and steps to the beach. Pool towels as well as beach towels are available for you. The large, covered terrace is perfect for watching the adjoining fun, sport and games or just relaxing in the hammock.
4. “The Cottage“is a one-bedroom Casita with sleeping possibilities for 2 or more. (Rollaways available.) The nature is so close you can touch it! It has a full kitchen with island, an open living room and a bathroom with shower and amenities and a large, covered patio for al fresco dining. There is WIFI, a flat screen TV with Netflix, air conditioning, fans, and its own washer & dryer.A nice stroll away is the refreshing infinity pool and steps to the beach. Pool and beach towels are available for you.

There are no stores on the island, so visitors need to plan ahead and stop by a grocery store on the mainland. You will certainly want to have at least a few favorite staples, as well as water and beverages in the refrigerator. There are a nice selection of restaurants and bars on the mainland. These are short, fun water-taxi away.

We have our own Internet tower.Our fresh spring water wells are linked to a 3-step water filtration system.In addition to Solar Power, we have back-up default access to the electricity provider as well as our own generator in the event of emergency electric power outages. We conserve water as much as possible by not letting water run thoughtlessly. We separate trash, and are gradually reducing waste and plastic to a minimum. We stayed in Puenta Del Sol for four nights and it was amazing. The Casa was gorgeous and appeared to be brand new. The main house was stunning with a dramatic high ceiling with floor to ceiling windows facing the ocean over her infinity pool. The art and decor was exquisite. The photographs on line could not possible have captured the beauty and essence of this home and property. Her kayaks were a big perk and took us to a secluded beach that we were so taken by, we went twice. Jody was a delightful host, who assisted us from before we arrived until we left in every way possible, going above and beyond, as this is her nature. We really enjoyed her company, wit and wisdom.

We had an amazing day at Jodi‘s place. Her house is exceptional and the view is absolutely amazing.
Jodi is an incredible host and did all she could to put us at ease. She was very kind with our kids and we had a wonderful stay.
We really hope that we will come back soon.
