About this house rental
Originally a Victorian farm, the Stables nestle beside a Sussex barn giving it a sheltered and secluded setting. The pretty country garden looks out across the wildflower meadows, where we often have sheep grazing. With our beautiful private woods beyond, which is all accessible to our visitors. The interior has been restored with many original features including stable doors, beams and a vaulted living room and all twenty first century comforts.
The stables has central heating and a lovely log burning fire for cosy evenings in.We are committed to promoting local sustainable tourism and the property is a Green Tourism Gold Award holder and accredited as Walkers and Cyclist welcome. Solar panels have been installed and logs provided are from our woods. The Stables are delightfully rural and yet close to amenities. We are easily accessible by public transport and a regular bus service passes the door. At the Stables you can enjoy walking from your doorstep through the woods to the local pub, tearoom or onto Ashdown Forest, looking out for deer, badgers birds and wildflowers on your way. This conversion offers a superb getaway, for everyone, in a truly unspoilt location.
We have our own on site bakery , we make organic sough dough and pastries . These can be pre ordered to be delivered while you are staying in The Stables.
This is a perfect place to stay all year round , with so much to do both here and in the local area. We ask for a min stay of 3 night but in July and August we ask for 7 night bookings.
