About this cabin rental
Welcome to your new favorite Black Hills vacation home named Jug House Lookout. This truly unique cabin offers a one-of-a-kind experience near Terry Peak. The 4th floor tower has some amazing views of the surrounding hills and valley below! The covered hot tub offers a great spot to also take in the amazing view from the cabin and local wildlife. With very easy proximity to the Terry Peak Stewart Lodge, which is just down the road, you can be skiing to your heart’s desire in no time! The Mickelson trail and many other ATV/snowmobile trails are within 10 minutes away, and some ATV trails can even be accessed right from the subdivision. Spearfish Canyon with its great fishing/waterfalls/hiking is only a short 15 minutes away. Downtown Deadwood is also just a short 15-minute drive or taxi ride full of places to gamble, great restaurants, and many festivals throughout the year! Within an hour’s drive from the cabin you can also be enjoying Custer State Park, Mount Rushmore, Keystone, Sylvan Lake or other central Black Hills attractions. Whether you've come to visit to enjoy an adventure filled getaway, a sight-seeing tour of the area, or a relaxing weekend enjoying the view from the tower, Jug House Lookout is surely going to make for a memory filled home-away-from-home.
Outside of the cabin you'll find a parking area for your vehicles/trailers, a single car garage, and 3 levels of patio/deck space great for taking in the view! The patio level has an 8-person hot tub, the second level deck has a gas grill, and the upper level tower deck includes a 360 degree walk around lookout and one of the best views of the area! The dark wood accented floors/ceilings make for an amazingly warm and comforting feeling as you kick your feet up by the gas fireplace or enjoy your company around the kitchen island. The open concept is great for entertaining as well. The lower level has another living area with sectional, TV and bedrooms. As you head upstairs towards the 4th level bedroom/tower, you reach the game room on the 3rd level that includes a DVD player with movies, boardgames, whiskey barrel game council with 49 games, and shuffleboard! The highest level and top of the tower, is the master bedroom with bathroom. The covered wrap-around deck goes all the way around the tower so you get a full 360-degree view of the surrounding landscape. There's also internet at the cabin using a Verizon hotspot and Dish satellite.

Property is very clean, and well equipped! All everyday essentials were stocked. Layout would be perfect for large families or groups of 3 couples, all floors with bedrooms had a restroom. Very quiet neighborhood. We will definitely be back.

Overall it was good. A few little things, like lazy Susan was broken, a few dead flies in the window. Bath towels ,nice and thick.

Due to work demands our company has stayed in various rentals in the area over the past two years. In comparison to what we have experienced at other rentals we would not stay here again. For our business needs, the biggest drawbacks for us were a broken coffee maker and the WIFI or lack thereof. It never connected so we ended up hot spotting the entire time. Because we are generally working we tend to eat in quite a bit and amenities such as cooking accessories were lacking. Lastly, the general cleanliness of the place was not what we had come to expect. While not terrible, attention to details were missing, shower drains were backing up and it was sub-par to others we had stayed previously. Flies were a big issue. Overall, the house is interesting and easily accessible which was a plus.
