    I frequent Doubletree Hotels quite often but this is one came up a little short. The bed was not very soft, the room decor was less than basic and the rooftop bar and pool was small and mediocre. If you are planning a short stay in Guayaquil, I’d recommend. But it wouldn’t be my first choice. I would recommend Hilton Colon Guayaquil

    I rented a premium room on the 17th floor with a view of the city and river. I was given a room that smelled strongly of mildew and had opaque windows that had no view. Back at the desk to get it fixed and was told that was the only premium room left. After a half hour battle, the gave me a non-premium room with a view. The manager had to intervene to get that done. But the hotel is great. Super location, terrific breakfast, good security, nice bar and lounge, comfortable bed, lots of outlets, safe parking, sensational view. Couple of small things - no dresser for clothes, and no full length mirror

    The jacuzzi has some dirty green parts, it was disgusting, the shower as well. Some staff need training to improve the level of their service and the prices of some drinks are too expensive. (Prices as high as in Las Vegas and this hotel is in Ecuador)
