Spotless, well equipped cottage, a great base for exploring Harris.

The cottage was a wonderful place to stay

This is a delightful place to stay. Cottage is comfortable & very well appointed with everything you need incl Netfix TV! Views from the sitting room over the bay to the islands beyond were a continual delight as the weather changed. Very good location 7min from Tarbert providing an ideal base for exploring Harris & Lewis with a village shop selling everything you could need just up the road.

The cottage is on the main road on the right coming from Tarbert - just after the small turning on left to the village. However as the rubbish bins obscured the house sign it took us a long time to find it!

We’d love to stay here again - we could have sat in that cosy sitting room watching the view change all day!

AMAZING VIEW!!! This is such an amazing location, and the property is very clean, well kept, tastefully furnished and very cosy and comfortable. The dishwasher and washing machine both worked well, and the shower is very good. There was a very generous and delicious welcome pack of edible and drinkable goodies when we arrived, which proved extremely useful until we got our heads around which shops were open when. The house is a few minutes’ drive away from the ferry terminal, and we found it a good base from which to explore both Harris and Lewis. It was SO quiet at night, and in late April there were very sweet lambs in the field opposite, too!

There is no freezer, or freezer compartment in the fridge.

Exceptional

The cottage is very tastefully decorated with lots of arts/ items from local business. It was nice to see these businesses being supported this way. I liked the different scents in the rooms. The accommodation was really really comfortable. I honestly did not want to leave. The outdoor space was great for enjoying the sunsets and dark skies. The location is ideal for exploring Uist, Lewis, boat trips and the whole of Harris. Lots of garden birds in the garden enjoying having baths in the burn (I watched them from the stone seat).Excellent local shop just 1 minute down road.

Perfection

Solace cottage was more than we could ever imagine, absolutely spotless, very well equipped for our self catering week, great to have private parking. The view is stunning and the surrounding areas are beautiful, it was a shame the weather wasn’t better but it didn’t spoil our enjoyment. We found a little pub attached to the Harris Hotel 5 minutes away that served pizzas plus tv’s showing the football. We had THE most wonderful holiday here celebrating our 46th wedding anniversary. The basket of goodies was such a wonderful touch and very much appreciated. Thank you.
