Home built in 1881! Impressed with updates but maintained old world charm. Comfy, cozy, everything we needed. The lake was beautiful and beach is clean, easy access. There is a zoo that we wish we had time to visit, so close you could walk to it. Lots of quaint placs to grab a meal. The fenced in yard a huge bonus for the fur baby.Being downtown, we expected street noise. Nope, inside it was quiet and comfy beds made for sleepy dreams of rolling lake waves lapping at the shore, seagulls, swallows and more.Host is awesome. Highly recommended! Perfect for 2 or family of 4.

We booked this property previously and sought it out for our return visit to Racine. After driving 500 miles, it was like arriving home. The property is clean and comfortable. There is ample on-street parking close to the house. Communication is exceptional; Andrea Scott is very quick to answer questions. When we had a problem with the door code, she responded almost immediately, even though it was late when we messaged her. She resolved the problem quickly. We would seek out this property for a return visit.

The best to share is the location. It is three short blocks from a well kept beach. Though we could not see the lake from the property. I believe this is a great property for a weekend getaway. We booked 2 months! So things a weekend guest might not be bothered by are more of an issue for long-term guests. The futon sofa is not comfortable for sitting on to watch TV. It is lumpy and uncomfortable. There are two small bedrooms. From the photos it was difficult to see that in one bedroom one has only one side for two people to enter from. The other bedroom has two walls and a closet around the bed so the entrance is from the bottom of the bed. Also, the bed we used (both of us entering from the same side) had indentations and probably needs to be replaced. The bathroom is attractive but the shower/tub drains slowly. Another plus is the fenced yard. The area has a crime rate above the national average so the fence gave us a sense of added security. The porch stairwell is wobbly and did not feel secure. The inside of the house has prior pet damage and chipping paint on some baseboards and doors. The house is cozy and a great location. I would recommend it for short stays but not for longer stays. The owner was going to be making additional improvements so I am sure from the work underway it will be nicer. Her gardens are quite beautiful and the home has lots of charm. Again, the location is very good.
