The Beach Hive

Location is fantastic. Situated about 300m from the beach (views from kitchen/balcony), and about 1 1/2km from town centre (10 minute walk). Street is very quiet. Cafe, Restaurant/bar (with live music) also located at the end of the street. The accomodation has multiple zones, so it is easy to find some space to chill when the kids are running rampant.

Was a bit unkempt. Grass needed mowing, it was a bit dusty in the bedrooms (needed vacuuming) and there was food from previous visitors left in the fridge/freezer. Real estate agent offered to get a cleaner in, however I declined as we were already set up and had done most of the cleaning by then. Unfortunately the kettle lid was broken (still usable though), and there was no coffee machine (as described in the facilities of the accom.) The dishwasher drawer was faulty (came out of the machine breaking half a dozen or so glasses - not great with barefooted kids around). - Advised the agent or departure, so hopefully not an issue for the next guests. Apart from this, the accomodation was very good for our large group (9 Adults/4 Kids).

I like the location of the property. Old house but good value for the money. Great to stay for a big family.

The toilet in the master's bedroom has no door. My niece also found a condom (new) in the drawer, maybe the previous tenant left it. The Weber BBQ was not cleaned properly.

Lots of room. Three seperate sitting rooms would accommodate young and old. Beds were comfortable. Showers worked well. Kitchen was well equipped.

BBQ wasn’t clean, owners could supply a $10 bbq mat for all guests to use. Even if it got thrown out after each guest, it would be better than dealing with a used, dirty bbq

Great location and perfect space for two families.

It was not at all clean when we arrived.
