! The views were absolutely breathtaking, and the house was the perfect size for our needs. One of the most memorable events was the visit from the beautiful black bears – an experience we will never forget.
Our stay was unfortunately marred by several issues. The place clearly hadn't been cleaned in a very long time; the floors were so dirty that our socks turned black. The mattresses on the pull-out beds were shredded, and one of the blankets had blood on it. There was also blood on the floor in one of the rooms, and the fridge was in poor condition. The toilet wouldn't flush properly and leaked.
While they did offer to send cleaners, we were in the middle of a family getaway. Someone did come to clean the blood on the floor and fix the leaky toilet, but we never received a replacement blanket. There was also a scare about bed bugs, but a pest control person reassured us it was most likely a bat bug, as the eaves had been sealed. Which was still unsettling.
Although they tried to remedy the situation, these issues significantly impacted our stay. I will say that the black bears did help us forget for a while.

The view was the credible and the house was spacious with comfortable table furniture tire and beds.
We arrived to a house that was semi clean. Bathtubs, toilets and floors needed attention. Nothing that we couldn’t take care of but it was disappointing that it wasn’t as clean as we expected. We did call and they offered to come clean but we declined. No potholders in the kitchen. We called and they delivered some very quickly. Rockers in the front of the house were chewed up by bears. We called to report it and they said they would come get them but never came.
Toilet seat in main floor master bath is broken
Grate in kitchen floor doesn’t fit and is loose. 8 yr old Child stepped on it and fell through. Luckily only got a bruise.
Trim in downstairs left bathroom has nails sticking out , scraped calf and cut thigh!!
No shelves on the refrigerator door makes it hard to fit food for 14 people.
Ice and water in refrigerator do not work. Only one ice cube tray!!
Downstairs right bathroom toilet runs constantly.
Bathroom sinks don’t have plungers and don’t drain well.
Kitchen needs large baking dishes for large crowd. One loaf pan and one cookie sheet is not adequate.
Hot water took a long time to heat up and didn’t last long.
Wood bees on porch are a nuisance and forced us inside several times.
Bears were VERY active. Climbed onto porch when we were sitting at outside table. Climbing on cars and trying to open doors. Two mamas with cubs were in yard, driveway and porches multiple times a day. Unfortunately we didn’t feel comfortable playing in yard or using the bbq grill and fire pit.
We had a great time in spite of the listed problems. The house was beautiful and a good fit for 14 . The drive up from the main road was very tricky but got easier the more we drove it.
