! The views were absolutely breathtaking, and the house was the perfect size for our needs. One of the most memorable events was the visit from the beautiful black bears – an experience we will never forget.
Our stay was unfortunately marred by several issues. The place clearly hadn't been cleaned in a very long time; the floors were so dirty that our socks turned black. The mattresses on the pull-out beds were shredded, and one of the blankets had blood on it. There was also blood on the floor in one of the rooms, and the fridge was in poor condition. The toilet wouldn't flush properly and leaked.
While they did offer to send cleaners, we were in the middle of a family getaway. Someone did come to clean the blood on the floor and fix the leaky toilet, but we never received a replacement blanket. There was also a scare about bed bugs, but a pest control person reassured us it was most likely a bat bug, as the eaves had been sealed. Which was still unsettling.
Although they tried to remedy the situation, these issues significantly impacted our stay. I will say that the black bears did help us forget for a while.
