Not what we expected

It was available last minute, good location

Our stay at this hotel was disappointing from the moment we arrived. The room was freezing cold, and to make matters worse, the curtains were partly broken in the room as in the bathroom, offering no comfort, especially the bathroom had no covering curtains. When my boyfriend asked the staff for help, they seemed unsure of what to do, blamed it on the “old building” and simply handed us one extra blanket—far from a solution. The pillows were incredibly uncomfortable, and the bathroom was so cold that we literally had to wear socks just to step inside. There was also nowhere to hang our coats, which added to the overall inconvenience. One towel was dirty and had black spots all over it For the price we paid, we expected at least basic comfort, but this hotel failed on multiple levels. Would not stay here again.

The location is perfect. The room inside was well-equipped.

Disgusted, nothing else available in the area my only other choice was to sleep on the street so we stayed

Not friendly, very dirty, room not cleaned, actual stuff in the toilet. Nearly no toilet paper. Took bedding off of second bed because they said we didn’t need two beds for two people. I’m 62 - worst hotel of my life. You should not have this on your website.

Our stay here was not very good. I wouldn’t go back. Not clean, zero interest and the room was missing things.

Location is good

Staff has zero interaction or interest. Like they just don’t care. The room was not very clean and the room didn’t have any curtains… so we had to take blankets and hang them over the window. Also all dispensers with shampoo or soap were empty. And in one of the drawers at the bed there was still chips of guests before us.

Price seems a bit high for what feels like an economy hotel (floor not super clean, furniture in need of repair, soap dispenser broken or needs a battery).

Great location, poorly maintained facility.

Location is perfect. Parking spaces on the street are sufficient. At least all the textures in the room are clean.

No one at the front desk anymore after check-in. Also request according to issues in the room thru booking.com isn't replied. Issues in the room are for example, the light in the room is defect, shower head is broken and soap dispenser doesn't work neither.

View of Porta Negra from our window! Very convenient to walk to all the old town sites of interest and many restaurants. Large, clean, comfortable room.

Gets a bit hot in the summer (we were there in late June). Unable to check in early (although the staff did let us store our suitcases until check-in time).

Pleasant

The location, next to Porta Negra, was incredible. The room, for a family of 3 was spacious.

The staff weren't very welcoming on arrival - and then they were completely absent, with nobody on reception, for our entire stay. We wanted to ask for a late check-out on the morning of departure, or to see if it was possible to look after our bags for a few hours, but we couldn't find anyone. The decor needs repainting (see picture). It's frustrating to be provided with a kettle, but no tea and coffee. Only glasses were provided, no mugs, so I couldn't even buy my own supplies. I would have expected tea/coffee in the room at a hotel of this price.

Very good location in Trier.

The location is second to none, and we had a great view of the Porta Nigra from the room. Also, the beds were nice.

Difficult to communicate with staff forehand (long message through Booking,com in German, and no reply when we asked for info in any other language). Also, the place is clean, but feels unloved.

Very good

The room was clean and very modern looking. It had 2 nice big beds, free bottled water and a kettle for morning coffee. The bathroom was very nice and had a hair dryer and free toiletries. Overall we were very happy with our room and our stay in Trier!

We happened to be in Trier during a heat wave. There was no fan for the room and we had to leave the windows wide open all night. That would be fine but it is close to the market square and it was so loud all night from people and vehicles. The room was on the 3rd floor and really hot.

Loved Trier!

the location was great - right next to the Porta Nigra (that was the view out of our window). So, it was super convenient for touring the old parts of the city. Also very convenient that there was a restaurant downstairs for dinner as we were tired and wanted something easy & close.

I would have liked coffee in the morning - either in the room or available downstairs. I would have liked info about where to park. Other hotels offered that in the confirmation emails.

Very good

Hotel is super close to the Fußgängerzone. It's in the city center. Bus stop is just outside the hotel. Around 7mins away from the main train station by foot. There's a grocery, Restaurants, pharmacy, etc just around the hotel.

I find it a bit expensive compare to other hotels that we've been to. The room does not have much lightings. No fridge, no TV, only has shower gel in the bathroom.

Perfect location next to Porta Negra

Perfect location next to Porta Negra and in the centre of town. Our room was large and more than big enough for a family of four. Nice decor and was cool in the summer months.

Nothing not to like. Reception is not regularly manned but there’s always someone in the restaurant and you can easily get their attention. Location is great for town and the train station. No television but is that really what you want to do when you go to Trier? No breakfast but there’s plenty of options nearby.

Superb

The room was spacious and had basic amenities, the bed was very comfortable. The location is great - just next to the Porta Negra and 10 min walking from station. Great restaurant underneath. looking forward to staying again

there was electrical kettle but no mugs or tea bags. the hotel is a bit understaffed as it shares the personal with a restaurant that’s underneath. staff doesn’t speak English as native speakers but that should not be off putting - in his part of Germany that’s rather normal.

The location of the hotel is just wonderful: close to the train station and the pedestrian sightseeing part of the city.

The staff does not speak English. There was hair everywhere in the bathroom: in the toilet, in the bathroom, on the sink. There are no TVs in the rooms. The room was stuffy.

Location is good and staff tried to help where possible. Maintenance seems to be a shortcoming overall. We cannot blame the daily staff for poor maintenance. Restaurant was quite good (dinner) and highly recommended.

We wanted to relax indoors at night (with a child) but there was no TV which is the main reason for the "overall" poor rating. One bad score affects your entire stay. However, we received a minor discount after indicating our dissatisfaction. The restaurant did not have a breakfast menu or open for breakfast which we were not aware of prior to booking.

We had a very good trip despite the facilities not being very child friendly.

Everything was extremely clean and well taken care of.

The staff were difficult to find for check out and overall were not very welcoming. The hotel also did not have a crib available for our baby.

We were very pleased with our unit and the location of the hotel.

The breakfasts were great. There are was lots of variety of high quality food, well prepared. The location of the hotel across from the Porta is fantastic! We were also pleased with the bathtub.

There were a couple of maintenance problems. One of the curtains was badly ripped and affected privacy, and the soap dispenser in the bathroom was ripped from the wall.

Location and the size of the room was ok but that was it!!! Rest was very negative!!

Shower slid down, no bedlights so reading in bed difficult, lots of noise at 6am, people walking above all the time, pillows too small, matrass too hard, parking/luggage not available! No breakfast included in way too high price for this

Stoffige kamer, bij inchecken amper aandacht van personeel (lang wachten tot iemand kwam helpen en die persoon was gehaast), We waren er 2 nachten, maar geen nieuwe handdoeken gekregen.
