Il Pioppo - Country House Sea View

Location is rural and quiet but spectacular. Roomy one bedroom chalet with large bedroom, nice bathroom, dining room with large fridge and kitchenette (including gas hobs, toaster oven, cofee maker and kettle). Air conditioning in dining room but keeps the whole apartment cool. Wonderful large terrace / garden outside with scenic views over the steep hillside leading down to the sea, facing south. Views to the west to Capri also. Large dining table outdoors, sunloungers, shallow plunger pool / cool down pool. Washing machine. The italian family next door have a small farm with a wonderful garden and some chickens. They constantly leave fresh homemade food, fruit, vegetables, eggs from their farm and also a generous supply of their homemade wine and linocello. We were spolit by their generousity. The owner/ administrator Illaria was also very attentive, she met us on the first night, was in contact with us by whatsapp and provided assistance with booking a day trip to Capri which picked us up 100m away at the main road. She has perfect fluent english and is very helpful. A car is essential for this property; the smaller the better as the lane down to the property is very narrow with a tight turn into the gateway. Electric gates let you into the parking area, which is safe and secure. Short walking distance (10-15 min) to three local restaurants and a small family grocery store. Very hilly area so lots of uphill walking is essential no matter where you go.

Not much, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It is the peace and quiet of a beautiful countryside location that is the draw to this property in summer. Some people may not enjoy the solitude of such a rural location , or the fact that a car is virtually essentail.

Selv om leiligheten er på samme område som eierne, er følelsen av privatliv og at man har alt for seg selv uvurderlig. Utrolig imøtekommende og rause eiere. Ferske egg, sitroner og limoncello sto klart da vi kom. Siste kvelden fikk vi nybakt il rustico brød fra stenovn av bestefar i huset. Enkelt å komme seg rundt, både på sykkel og med bil. Utforsket Amalfi-kysten, og etter kaos og mas var det paradis å komme tilbake i høyden på Il Pioppo og nyte solnedgangen i fred og ro.

A georgeous place which makes you feel like at home. Beautiful garden where you can eat/ grill/ relax/ work and admire the views of the sea and the end of the peninsula and Capri (amazing sunsets!). The apartment itself is very clean and really well equipped. We`ve been welcomed very warmly. The owner is the best :) Hospitality of the owners, who live next door (the entrance is shared, but the garden and the apartment are private) is incredible - we`ve been pampered with some home made limoncello, home made wine, fruits from the garden and eggs from the owner`s hens. I could stay there forever. A good spot to explore the whole peninsula with a car - Sorrento, Positano, Amalfi or even Pompeii is just a short and pleasant drive away, with beatiful views all along the way. A lovely beach is also not far away. Heartfelt thanks!
