About this house rental

Enjoy picturesque, peaceful, waterside living on Great Sacandaga Lake (GSL), with 50' of SE-facing lakefront.

Your two-level, 4BR 2BA lakefront home sits on a quiet, dead-end street off North Shore Rd. Relish spectacular, unobstructed lake views on two levels, all just a few steps from the water. No road to cross. No trucks to listen to all day. No traffic or telephone wires obstructing your view. It's just you and the sun and the water, and every convenience.

The main level has 3 bedrooms (Queen, Full, Twin), a full bathroom, kitchen, a large patio with gas grill off the kitchen, living room, a full-width enclosed porch directly facing the water, and an expansive new Trex deck (2024) off the porch. The lower level – with its own private entrance - includes a studio apartment with its own kitchen, bedroom area (Queen), full bath, living/dining area with futon (full), and a massive open-air porch. A full-size washer and dryer are on the lower level.

The upper level sleeps 5, the lower level sleeps 4. Perfect for families large and small, and great for anyone who needs to create separate living space for two family generations.

Amenities include TWO fully equipped kitchens, with all the dishes, pots and pans, utensils, spices, and basic necessities you will need; a new gas grill (2023); 50' of private waterfront with swimming area and new 50' dock (2024), free use of a variety of watercraft; washer/dryer; heat and A/C. There's even a large private outdoor shower with hot and cold running water. And if you need to work remotely, the lower level sports a comprehensive virtual office setup with 3 27” UHD monitors, camera and mic, a wifi color printer/scanner, and uninterruptable power supply (UPS) to protect your computer and keep internet service up in the event of a power outage.

So many opportunities to enjoy your home and its ideal setting. Walk down the terraced lawn and a dozen steps and you're in the water. Wade in at the waterline, or jump off the deep water dock. Go for a paddle in the two kayaks or a row in the dinghy provided for your use. When you want to dry off, relax on the dock, lawn, or on the large upper deck that all bask in full sun exposure most of the day. Read a book in the shade of the expansive lower level, open-air porch. On both levels, enjoy completely unobstructed views of the water and Adirondack foothills beyond. On crisp Adirondack mornings, turn on a little heat and enjoy your coffee on the enclosed porch dining area that bathes in warm breakfast sunshine. On the rare, too-hot day, enjoy the all-day shade of the lower-level porch or cool off in the living room in the comfort of air conditioning. Have a big family? Split up, with some downstairs and some upstairs, each with their own fully-equipped kitchen.

You have a perfect location on a quiet, dead-end street on the less-busy north end of GSL. And yet, you’re only 10 min to a hike up Hadley Mountain, 15 min to Hadley or Corinth for grocery shopping and white water rafting, 30 min to Northville for ice cream and antiquing, 30 min to Glens Falls / Lake George for shopping, dining, extreme water sports, and every imaginable entertainment, and less than 45 min to Saratoga Raceway and Saratoga Performing Arts Center. Even the Albany airport is just an hour away. At your house at the lake, you're a world away from it all but close to everything. Can't beat that.

Well-cared for and maintained camp and property. Everything we needed was provided - beach towels, noodles, kayaks, life jackets - for lake fun. The owner was very responsive and recommended a great marina close by to rent a pontoon boat. Well-stocked kitchen, new mattresses on beds. A number of separate sitting areas to relax and enjoy the space.

This place was beautiful and very relaxing! We especially enjoyed taking the kayaks out. We would certainly stay here again.

We stayed for a week: 2 families plus one grandfather. We had an awesome time. The home was perfectly laid out for us to have the adults upstairs and the kids (although 3 are now adults) downstairs. We spent most of the time on the upper outside deck and the dock. There is another downstairs porch area that the kids used most of the time. The property is well kept and comfortable and a lot of thought and effort was put into making sure everything you could need is provided. We had a wonderful time and loved the house and owners. Would definitely recommend.

The house is as described and it's beautiful being right on the lake. We rented a boat from a local marina and were able to dock it at the dock, and we enjoyed being able to swim and kayak. The house came with 2 kayaks, which was great. It's located at the quiet end of the lake, ideal for swimming off the dock and exploring the area by boat. It is a really beautiful lake. The house was comfortable and comes pretty well-stocked with towels/linens, kitchen things etc. there were even some books and board games (the only thing missing was a corkscrew). This was a good space for a group, there were many different areas to hang out (sun room, deck, lower patio) all with beautiful lake views. Note that the downstairs apartment doesn't connect by indoor staircase to the rest of the home, this only became an issue because it rained a lot during our stay and you had to run outside between the upstairs and downstairs. The only real issue we encountered was that the basement apartment gets very wet and damp, our stuff got wet from the puddles that accumulated on the floor. But this wasn't that big of a deal, just something to be aware of. The property is a little steep and involves many stairs, so I wouldn't recommend to people who would struggle with that but for most people it shouldn't be an issue, it mostly wasn't for us - this is clearly visible from the photos. The steepness of the property does make it hard to use chairs on the lawn as it is not a stable surface. Andy was very easy to communicate with and checking in was an easy process. There is no cell service in the area and the wifi at the house is a little spotty if you're relying on it for working remotely, but for regular use should be just fine. Overall we had a nice stay and really enjoyed the house and the lake. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing lake vacation.
