About this apartment rental
The apartment in the heart of the medieval town of Chianni was completely redesigned in 2018 and completely restored. The apartment can be entered at ground level from the village square, has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen, dining and living area. To the rear, facing away from the village, is an approximately 60 square meter, partially covered terrace with a panoramic view.
In the distance, Volterra rises from the hilly landscape, glowing in the sun during the day or sparkling at night.
The living room
The apartment for 4 people has a total area of around 102 square meters. Via the entrance area you can reach the bright and open living room, which typically includes the kitchen and the dining room.
The bedrooms are separated and each have their own shower room.
The roof terrace is entered via a corridor attached to the living room. The lovingly decorated interior of the house contains individual antiques from the 18th Century.
The equipment includes a stove with oven, a large refrigerator, a dishwasher and other kitchen utensils such as kettle, toaster and Nespresso coffee machine, etc. There is a washing machine in one of the bathrooms
A satellite TV is installed in the living room, WiFi is available throughout the apartment as well as air conditioning (equipment: "tutto compreso").
Public parking spaces are located in the immediate vicinity below the house.
The cleaning of the houses must be paid in cash after the stay (90 €). Electricity costs based on consumption.
All rooms are freely accessible and usable. The building can be reached via one step, but is not barrier-free. All rooms are on one level.

Gentle hills characterize the face of this region. A paradise of silence stretches along the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea in wild, mostly untouched nature. Initially, the road follows the gently rolling hills through tiny villages, cypresses, old natural stone houses as well as the remote country houses on top of the hills. Juniper and myrtle forests pass by.
Already in spring, red poppy carpets cover the still green valleys and hills, later, when the summer spreads its heat over the country, the fields shine in the bright yellow of the sunflowers sprouting everywhere. Late autumn bathes the landscape in the dark red of the leaves and grapes. The harvest season appears as a long festival.
Chianni lies in the middle of the pleasant, lonely hilly landscape. Here you will find peace, relaxation and security. In the tranquil place itself there are all shops for daily needs: baker, butcher, newsagents, bank, post office, hotel, two restaurants, two bars, hairdresser, doctor, pharmacy, shops for daily needs etc.
Chianni is the ideal starting point to explore the most interesting places and landscapes in Tuscany. Visit the Uffizi Gallery in Florence, the towers in San Gimignano, the Field of Miracles in Pisa, Piazza del Campo in Siena, explore the city walls of Lucca and the Ombra della Sera in Volterra - or visit the wide, white beaches of the Tyrrhenian Sea at Vada, Castiglioncello or Tirrenia.

We spent a month in Chianni and this apartment and we loved everything about it. The deck has the most beautiful view with lounge chairs for relaxing and a lovely table and chairs under a covered porch where we spent many night playing cards and eating pizza from Anna’s Bar. I can’t wait to come back. Thank you Gabby and John.

We loved Chianni! Such a lovely little town, with amazing views of the countryside from the expansive deck. Anna’s, next door to Bella Vista, is a gem of a coffee shop and pizzeria, and there are other great restaurants as well. The apartment looked nice, but we experienced more than a few annoyances: burned out bulbs, flickering lights, sticking locks, ants in the kitchen, terrible water pressure and loss of hot water, and noise from the piazza at night (not Bella Vista’s fault, but not ideal). We’d love to visit Chianni again, but would likely find a different rental.

My husband and I had a wonderful week staying in Chianni, the apartment was perfect, we loved the terrace with views over the rolling Tuscan hills. The location allowed us to walk to local restaurants as well as longer 2-3 hours hikes in the hills and forests which we loved. The highlight was going to see Andrea Bocelli sing in his home village Lajatico (25 mins away). We had a car so we enjoyed pottering to local towns/hamlets, we especially enjoyed the Medieval towns of Volterra and San Gimignano. We don't like crazy busy places so Chianni was perfect for us, peaceful but with atmosphere and charm. Top restaurants for us were Chianni Bistro and Il Ripordoro in Rivalto (next door village) where we had a very special long Sunday Italian lunch! We will be back. Thank you for sharing your apartment:)
