Holiday on Hillcrest

Julie and Stuart respond to my questions and easy to deal with. Instructions were clearly provided.

The apartment is good enough but needs to give more effort on cleaning. Mouldy curtains, cobwebs around, sticky floor and white goods were dirty.

The hosts were lovely and made an effort to make our stay as comfortable as possible - they provided a range of items for breakfast, which was a nice touch. It was clean and had all the facilities described. Great location close to Scarness beach - couldn't really ask for more.

The property was in an excellent location & we were able to walk everywhere we wanted to. It was presented very well. Very clean with the extra goods in the fridge & cupboards appreciated.

There was plenty of room in the living area and bedroom. The hosts greeted us on arrival and were very friendly. They kindly left us some butter, a small amount of milk, and 3 eggs in the fridge, plus some snack pretzel packs, various herbal teas, and some coffee pods for the pod machine.

The property needs a deep clean. The carpet in the bedroom was stained and odorous in some areas. The drawer and cupboard handles felt tacky with layered grime, which was unpleasant to touch. There have been some repairs done that do not look very good, and the blanket on the bed was stained and dirty. The owners live in part of the lower level, adjoining, as well as the upstairs part of the house, so occasionally, we could hear thudding footsteps above us and voices filtering over from next door. This didn't bother us too much, but it may be an issue for others.
