Quinta do Mirante

Out of the 10 different places we stayed during our 2.5-week road trip across Spain and Portugal, this was hands-down the absolute best! The granite villa sits on a stunning 3.5-hectare property filled with a lush garden of orange and lemon trees, passion fruit vines, edible chestnuts, and other exotic plants. The estate also features a wonderful vintage party room, an incredible viewpoint perched on a massive boulder with trees growing right on top (the inspiration behind the property's name), and a beautiful granite swimming pool at the top of the hill—which is quite a hike to reach, but completely worth it! Our hosts were incredibly warm and welcoming, providing us with fantastic local recommendations, dining spots, must-see sights, and fascinating historical insights about the area. We also got to try the local wine, which I highly recommend! The only minor challenge for us was navigating the steep climb from the street to the parking area on our motorcycles, but it ended up being a fun little adventure!

Local, friendly reception, beautiful pool and barbecue

Some ants and bees, but it was peaceful and, well, its in the mountains, it was expected.

Quinta do Mirante is a well kept farm, an excellent place to spend some time with friends or family. Michel and Jacqueline are great hosts! The house is beautifully decorated with some old pieces and from different countries. There are many cozy places with hammocks, loungers and the barbecue area is great, the pool is perfect. We can’t wait to return!
