This lower apartment of a completely remodeled 1886 manor with 10' ceilings is near the Elberta Life Saving Station (weddings). This was our third year at Big Porch. It is a great location with wonderful hosts. We had a transportation issue that required some special arrangements and our hosts were easy to contact and very accommodating of our needs. The house itself is well stocked and worked well for our group of four. The house is close to restaurants, beach, shopping, and an easy drive to many Lake Michigan activities. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again.

Wonderful weekend getaway full of adventure that is friendly to all ages. With a party range of two early elementary aged children to seniors this location was a great placefor a variety of activities. There was plenty of beaches including some that are easy access up to challenging dunes.

After hiking and exploring all day, coming here to unwind and rest was like coming home. The kitchen was nicely stocked; the sitting area had plenty of room to relax; and the beds were comfortable. The updates to the property are lovely. And this place is super close to miles and miles of great hiking trails and beaches!

We enjoyed our stay at this beautifully renovated house, and loved all the information the owner provided about the history of the house and the area. The porch is a great place to hang out and look at the water, and the location is convenient to hikes, beaches and the many activities available in the area. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you would need to cook, and the owner has thoughtfully provided beach equipment, games, books, etc.
