A perfect stay in a delightful cottage.
A beautiful period cottage. It was homely and snug, the owners were delightful and got the perfect balance of being present onsite and giving us lots of space & privacy.
The mattress in the main bedroom was a little soft.

Apartment inaccessible if you have any mobility issues
The location suited my needs and the hosts were friendly. The kitchen had all appliances I needed and was well-equipped. The apartment was clean and warm.
I thought I was booked into a cottage and it didn't state in the booking the name of the accommodation, which turned out to be The Hayloft. There was no description of the external metal steps which provides the only access to the accommodation or I would never have booked this! I have weak, arthritic knees, and really struggled to get up and down these slippy, steep and narrow steps without falling. The area from the entrance gate to the steps is cobbled (see pic) which is another safety hazard. I didn't think that would be an issue in the daylight but when I came back to the accommodation later it was pitch black (a sensor light doesn't come on until you are at the bottom of the steps), my foot slipped on the cobbles, ankle went over and fell on my side. After that I realised that to keep safe I needed to wear trainers all the time when climbing the staircase and walking over the cobbles, so bought a plastic box to leave outside, leave the trainers in and change into my shoes for the evening. The fact that I had to resort to this each time is quite ridiculous! But the staircase was very wet and slippy and frankly treacherous. The semi-rural location of the accommodation gave the impression that it would be quiet...but it was surprisingly noisy! The traffic noise from the main road nearby woke me every morning between 6.30am and 7.00am, and I heard my neighbours talking/snoring/coughing/banging front door...so it wasn't particularly quiet. There was no wardrobe, just some hooks on the wall and a chest of drawers, which would be okay for a weekend but I was there a week, so had nowhere to put clothes and shoes. Lastly, the WiFi access was very intermittent so I had to use my mobile data most of the week. To be fair when I complained on arrival the host did reply to my message quickly and offered a full refund if I didn't want to stay.

That when we arrived, David came up to us welcome does tell us all about the property told us exactly where to find our keys that it was very comforting in the hayloft where we stayed and I don’t think there’s anything that you could make any better from Imogen age 10

Lovely place, but loud if your a light sleeper as its on a busy road.
The facilities and the bedding.
There are 3main things which need improving..
1)A light by the main entrance as when ur driving at 40mph its very easy to miss
2)The shower screen, it needs to be a bi-fold or a curtain, as when u want a shower or bath u have to open it towards the door and it's very hard to get in.
3) This is more of a suggestion,.... its a mish-mash of styles. I would recommend keep the farm feel and remove all the fruit pictures and replace them with old photos the old working farm. And remove the random Chinese theme stuff is it don't go, keep with the farm feel it would look fab.

Traditional, cosy farm stay
The beds were super comfortable (I like soft beds), and the surroundings were pretty. The kitchen was well equipped and the main bedroom was spacious. The shower was hot (good) and had good pressure. Our hosts were welcoming and accommodating.
There was traffic noise during the week (less over the weekend) but it didn’t disrupt my sleep. It was cold downstairs (the walls are very thick) but our hosts gave us a heater which helped. The living / TV area was a bit cluttered with too much furniture.

Excellent facilities, host and location but 1.2m wide "Small Double" bed was too narrow.
The HayLoft is compact like a studio apartment. The bathroom was good, water pressure was great. The washing machine was a strong reason for selecting the accommodation and it was a real benefit for us. We used the galley kitchen to prepare our own breakfast and made simple pasta dinner one night.
The only issue was that the bed is described as double - but it is only 4ft or 1.2m wide and what the UK I believe calls a "Small Double." This was much too narrow for us and we are by no-means big people.
