About this cabin rental
Our own "little house on the prairie" cabin. Our largest rustic cabin perfect for a larger group. A perfect pick for families, a girls get-a-way weekend, or friends who just want to be in the same space. the layout of the Spruce is different than the rest of our cabins.
There are 2 separate bedrooms, a separate living room with a queen sleeper sofa and a double futon. There is a separate full kitchen/dining area complete with a picnic table to have a large group enjoy the scrumptious meal prepared and play card or board games. The bathroom includes a shower. To add a little fun there is a small loft above each bedroom where small children can sit and read, play, or sleep while the adults are talking or playing games and just doing your own thing.
For your outdoors enjoyment you have your own private charcoal grill, picnic table and fire pit. From your cabin door it is just a short walk to our waterfront area on Ellis Lake or to our outdoor hot tub located in the woods beneath the pines and stars (used by entire resort-sign up board located outside office for 1 hour of private usage). WIFI is located near the office.

Ellis Lake is a 50+ acre lake enjoyed by the nature lover as you can sit on the lovely deck in the early morning hours and often hear the call of the loons and see the swans, ducks and cranes when they are back for the season. During the day our guests enjoy taking a rowboat out to try their skills at fishing for pike, bass, perch or bluegill. Take a canoe or paddle boat out and paddle around the lake to look for the painted turtles that often sun themselves on the logs near the shoreline. A swim raft sits in the middle of the lake enticing you to take a dip or enjoy the warmth of the sun. In the evening, enjoy a campfire at the fire pit and take in the billions of stars that often reflect on the water as there are no lights to hinder this magnificent view.

My wife and i took four nights for our 1st trip to Michigan. We wanted to visit Traverse city and Torch lake. We stayed at Ellis Lake Resort and had a great trip. We stayed at the Spruce cabin, which had everything we needed. each cabin has their own parking, picnic table, charcoal grill and firepit.In addition to visiting the surrounding area, which includes some fabulous places like dunes and lake Michigan beaches and more, we also fished Ellis Lake and caught fish both times, while using the canoes provided by the resort.The hot tub was out of service, which was our only drawback, but overall, we had a great trip at Ellis Lake Resort. We stayed at this location for easy access to Traverse City. This place met all of our needs and it was a nice, rustic way to enjoy Michigan. We are grateful for the recommendations from the staff in the office which we spoke with daily. Overall, it was a nice stay!

We absolutely loved our stay in Becky's cabin...so cute and quaint and only a short distance to Interlochen for our daughter's graduation. They even made us a delicious poke cake for our arrival and fresh flowers! Thanks so much for a great weekend trip!
