The MATIDIA house located between Rome and Naples in the river Ulysses at Maiano in the suburb of SESSA AURUNGA in the Garigliano valley near the ancient thermal baths of SUIO much appreciated by the Romans.
Located between Rome and Naples, the Riviera of Ulysses is a region where nature

land, pleasant climate and multifaceted flora and fauna, where the magic of
Circe, which according to legend once attracted Ulysse, is still present. A
gentle nature invites to long walks on numerous beaches

there are traces of distant times, such as the city of Tiberio in
Sperlonga or that of Cicero in Formia. Ideal place for vacation

Casa Matidia was a real surprise for us. A wonderful surprise. The photographs on VRBO don’t do it justice. The house is beautiful, magnificently furnished, and equipped with everything you might need. Stefano and his family were present at our arrival and welcomed us warmly, providing a much-appreciated welcome pack. Moreover, there were already bottles of water in the fridge when we arrived, which was greatly appreciated given the heat. Stefano and his family were always available for any needs and gave us advice on places to visit or where to eat. I can say that they made us feel like part of their family.
Great house in a safe, quiet location but a car is highly recommended.

Wir hatten im August 2021 einen herrlichen Urlaub (vier Kinder, zwei Erwachsene, ein Hund) im Ferienhaus Matidia. Das Haus liegt ländlich ruhig, etwas abseits vom Stadtkern von Sessa Aurunca. Ein kleiner Laden und eine Pizzeria sind vorhanden, frisches Obst und Gemüse kann man am Straßenrand kaufen. Mit Auto oder Zug (sehr zu empfehlen, z. B. von Minturno aus!) sind Rom und Neapel mit Pompei und Herculaneum gut zu erreichen, ebenso in wenigen Autominuten Strand und Meer. Das Haus ist voll umzäunt, sodass unser Cocker Spaniel frei herumlaufen konnte. Für ihn war im Haus sogar Fress- und Wassernapf vorhanden. Unser Auto konnte auf dem Grundstück auch in unmittelbarer Nähe des Hauses geparkt werden.
Der Check-in wie auch der Check-out waren unkompliziert und die Vermieter sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Tipps für Zugtickets und Besichtigungsmöglichkeiten in der Umgebung waren Gold wert! Über WhatsApp war die Kommunikation schnell und unkompliziert.
Im Haus selbst war alles zur Selbstversorgung Nötige vorhanden und alle Räumlichkeiten sauber und gepflegt sowie geschackvoll eingerichtet. Selbst für Tafelwasser war bei unserer Ankunft gesorgt, was bei 37 Grad prima war. Besonders geschätzt haben wir als sechsköpfige Familie natürlich die Geschirrspülmaschine und bei durchgängig schönem Wetter selbstverständlich die beiden Klimaanlagen!
Im Garten wuchsen leckere Tomaten, die herrlich zum Mozarella gepasst haben. Auch Zitrusbäume, Kaki, Feigen und Paprika wuchsen im Garten. Grill und beschattete Sitzmöglichkeiten fürs Frühstück sind vorhanden. Gartenliegen wären noch schön gewesen. :)
Insgesamt haben wir sehr viele Sehenswürdigkeiten wahrgenommen (z. B. auch Sperlonga und die Villa des Tiberius etc.) und trotzdem Strand und Meer genossen! Ein sehr erholsamer Urlaub, bei dem sich auch unser Hund sehr wohl gefühlt hat! Wir würden gerne wiederkommen!

La maison, totalement rénovée avec goût et matériaux de qualité, était très agréable. Elle est bien isolée et nous n'avons quasiment pas eu besoin d'utiliser la clim. Les equipements sont complets et rien ne manque pour cuisiner les excellents produits de la région. Le seul bémol concerne le wifi absent, pas tres pratique pour organiser les visites et sorties (mais Stefano le mettra à disposition prochainement).
Les extérieurs étaient sécurisés pour les enfants, et bien équipés également (barbecue, espace repas, potager avec tomates et basilic à disposition).
Stefano nous a accueilli très gentiment et était disponible pour répondre à toutes nos demandes.
A ne pas manquer: la fabrique de mozzarella Santa Lucia à quelques kilomètres, un vrai régal!
