The hotel rooms are spacious, clean and fully equipped with a kitchenette. It is minutes walk from the main square and it would have been a perfect stay had the receptionist not accused my uncle of not closing the front door and adding charges of over $150 to my card.
It was eventually sorted out because my uncle asked to see the camera footage and proved it was not him that left the front door open. But before this was discovered the receptionist bordered on rude and dismissive and put the charges through.
She was apologetic afterwards and reversed the charges, but I feel she should have investigated thoroughly before making the accusations. It put a downer on our morning and had my aunty panicked that I was being charged for this.
I booked this room for my aunt and uncle on their first night in NZ, but it wasn’t the experience I was hoping for.

This was my second stay this year (first in February, most recent just last week). The room is well appointed and super clean. The location is unbeatable — a 3-minute walk to The Plaza and just 1–3 minutes to airport bus stops. The reception staff were friendly and very helpful. I’ll definitely book this hotel again when returning to Palmy.

Queen studio is good size for 1 person. Bus stop is just 2 mins walk and The Plaza is about 5min by foot. The pillow and bed a bit too soft for my liking but I still managed a good night sleep throughout my stay. The shower water pressure is on the weaker side but not a big issue. Will definitely rebook when visiting Palmy.
