This holiday rental in bucolic 6,700 person Michelau right across the Main River from regional centre 21,000 Lichtenfels with all services is an astounding and rare holiday rental in the ecosystem of European holiday rentals. Most rentals are old, tired out, brown and cramped. Harald with his hard work and vision has transformed….renovated in February 2020 this 142 square metre apartment into a traveller oasis. Most Europeans let alone North Americans do not get to live like this. It is a very spacious easy living Euro apartment.
As part of a 7.5 week independent self planned cycling vacation we had the privilege of staying here for 12 nights. As Canadians enjoying their 23rd vacation to Europe for cycling and 9th time to Germany I can say without reservation this is one of the top rentals we have ever stayed in…over 150 bookings in 25+ years.
A huge living area, solarium, modern kitchen, spacious bedrooms add up to a unique offering. Harald excels at communicating and is incredibly thorough and skilled in offering travel advice both electronically through links and a plethora of travel materials in the apartment….ultra organised.
Close to Coburg, UNESCO World Heritage Site Bamburg and 300m from the world famous German ADFC 5 star rated Main cycling path. We loved our time in this privileged location…the Upper Main Jura area of famous and wealthy Oberfranken…Northern Bavaria.

Michelau liegt am Rand des Gottesgartens am Obermain. Wir haben eine ruhige, gut ausgestattete Ferienwohnung als Basislager für unsere Wanderungen und Ausflüge gesucht und sind hier fündig geworden.
Einziges Manko ist das kleine Bad mit einer noch kleineren Dusche, aber im Urlaub hat man Zeit, dann geht auch das.

Eine sehr schöne geschmackvoll eingerichtete Wohnung. Alles war sehr sauber, das Bett und das Kopfkissen waren hervorragend, in dem großen Wintergarten kann man sich wunderbar entspannen. Die große perfekt eingerichtete Küche lädt zum kochen ein, leider bin ich nicht dazu gekommen. Der Vermieter ist sehr nett und hilfsbereit. Ich kann die Wohnung nur weiterempfehlen.
