Downtown Isle of Palms is just a two mile-drive, where you’ll find dining, shops, and the grocery store. Less than 12 miles away, historic Charleston awaits with its traditional cuisine, Civil War heritage, popular landmarks, and more. Make sure to visit one of Charleston’s most photographed icons on Johns Island: The Angel Oak Tree. It’s said to be the largest live oak east of the Mississippi. We loved the house, top to bottom. Ocean views and sounds of the waves made it very special. The location is wonderful for beach access and touring the area.

Vacasa was great to work with. They made sure to provide all of the information needed in a timely manner. The check-in and check-out process was very easy.
The house was a mixed bag. The location was great. It is a quiet and peaceful area. The outdoor space was also fantastic. The top deck has a view of the ocean and the bottom screened in porch is nice for sitting outside. The bathrooms and kitchen are updated and very nice. We cooked on Christmas day and the kitchen is well stocked with everything that you need. The television is great and we had no problems with the wifi and streaming. Also, the house was clean for the most part.
However, the house definitely needs some TLC. Most of the furniture feels old and outdated. Many pieces are damaged or just worn and stained. There are some minor issues that just need repaired (a broken lamp and broken blinds in the second bedroom, a missing smoke detector in the master bedroom, etc). The carpet upstairs is worn out and stained. It just could use some general upkeep. Also, we could never find the source but there was a strong musty/old odor in the house. In fairness to Vacasa - it was the Christmas weekend and we did not ask them to do any repairs during our stay.
The house worked for our stay and we didn't spend too much time at the house with so many fun things to do in the area. We will stay in that area again when we come back and we will use Vacasa again. However, we would not choose to stay at this house again.
