About this villa rental
This unique property, with an amazing sea view, is perfect for families looking for an authentic holiday in Sardinia with their children, friends or extended family. Nestled in a secluded corner of the Nurra region in Northwest of Sardinia, the house was completely restored in 2018 using traditional techniques and materials. Set in 3 hectares of preserved ‘macchia mediterranea’ and a small vineyard and a stone’s throw from the nearest beach at Porto Palmas, the house features a large veranda overlooking the sea, perfect for outdoor dining and long, lazy afternoon naps, and an open kitchen and lounge. The house has four bedrooms and three bathrooms and sleeps comfortably 6 people.
The nearby village of Palmadula provides all basic services including grocery shops, a pharmacy, a bar and a take away pizzeria. The hamlet of Argentiera, with its old mining facilities of historical interest, offers simple beach bars and a restaurant. The house is some 40 minutes drive from the beautiful town of Alghero, known for its Catalan history and architecture, which hosts an array of restaurants and shops. The city of Sassari is approximately 45 min away by car while both the port city of Porto Torres as well as the famous Stintino and its white sandy beaches are less than 30 minutes away. Coming from outside Sardinia, the property can be most easily reached by ferry via Porto Torres or by flight via the Alghero-Sassari airport. It can also be reached via Olbia, in the northeast of Sardinia, which is approximately one and a half hour away.
Access: The property can be accessed through the area of the beach of Porto Palmas. From there, it is a two-minutes’ drive to reach the house following an uphill gravel road into the countryside (if you are renting a car, pls keep this in mind and avoid very low. cars).
Animals and insects: The property is located in the nature. As such, there are a number of animals like rabbits and various type of birds that you may see. Like everywhere in Sardinia, boars may occasionally also pass in the valley where the house is located, normally at night. You may come across a small snake, or (seldomly) a small scorpion. Please note that neither are poisonous. The path outside the house is an occasional crossing point for a turtle or two, so keep an eye, notably when driving. Additionally, in the hottest hours of the day and depending on the wind direction, there can be insects flying over the swimming pool, attracted by the water and the chlorine. Please take this into consideration before booking if you are particularly sensitive/concerned about these aspects.

We stayed for two weeks and enjoyed the time in this cozy remote place. The design of the house is amazing and you can find everything you need. Also, the owner is very responsive to any queries. There is a nice beach close by with a small bar. For everything else you will need a car.
